New Prizefighter tonight on Sky Sports 2 8pm - Lightweights

Tonight sees a new series of Prizefighter start on Skysports 2.
This time it's an equal split of English and Scottish LW boxers fighting for the £25k prize.

A personal bonus for me is that one of the boxers is Steve Saville who lives in my home town. He was a couple years above me at my school and occasionally drinks in my local! Pretty much everyone in town is talking about tonight so really looking forward to this myself...

Haven't seen hardly any of these. Looking at the records they should have called it powderpuff fighter.

Saville is a tear-up merchant, no? Thinking of backing him. Although I expect one of these unexposed Scots will take it.

Hi

I am backing Gary McArthur as he's from Clydebank, the same town as me and goes to the local ABC boxing club as me! He's unbeaten been through alot recently and is determined to win this as he's been out of action for a while and has alot to prove, he has a great trainer in Barry Winters who works tirelessly with his boxers.

If he loses then I predict Ryan Brawley to win

Any other predictions? There's not alot to go on as most of them are unexposed and therefore cannot be compared in great detail

jim, welcome to the forum. No predictions as I don't know too much about the fighters, I do welcome the format (borrowed from k-1) as an occasional event. It ensures entertaining fights and gives some less well known fighters tv exposure.

Brawley looked very good, he pretty much dominated the whole thing and is now undefeated in 12

good enough show. The scouse lad who got the final via the blood letting should have took a pasting though for rubbing his glove up in the face...very dirty.

& it wasn't a knockdown, he was falling foward anyways and he got tapped round the back of the ear/head.

Was gutted that this one happened on a bloody Tuesday night, when I'm at work till 10 and couldn't have a gamble on the result nor even follow them, but I'll be keeping an eye out for a repeat in the future. The lightweights involved didn't seem to have the pedigree of previous fighters, but if they can follow the success of previous contestants, then best of luck to the winner Ryan Brawley.
