    Default Myths Destroyed

A lot of fighters over history have set up a myth about themselves only to be shot down and for them to never quite reach the standards we thought they would.

    Tyson
    Mugabi
    Don Curry
    Naz
    Butterbean

The list could be endless so let's hear your opinions.

I think we could throw Nikolai Valuev onto this bonfire of the myths. After all, he pretty much came from nowhere, this giant from the east who was undefeated, and painted as the unbeatable colossus. And we all know what happened next.

On a note closer to home, I'm happy to take bets on the next Brit wannabe to fall by the wayside.

    Tyson Fury: Evens
    Billy Joe Saunders: 5/4
    James DeGale: 5/2
    Frankie Gavin: 6/1
    Darren Sutherland: 10/1
    Tony Jeffries 12/1
    David Price 12/1

    Show me the money bro.

*By fail we mean not winning their next four fights, losing all, one draw counts as a success, should their record be three fights and one draw the bet will be counted as void. Any world titles will lead to the bettor being refunded any losing bets on that fighter. The bookies decision is final, and even if it ignores previous rules, is still correct.

Although not a boxer, it's a myth, none the less......

That Saddoboxer knows what he is talking about.

Seriously though, Joel Julio comes to mind. He was ESPN's prospect of the year in 2005, and was heavily hyped.

What a disappointment he turned out to be.

does anyone remeber when Zab Judah 1st cameon the scene ? Even normally cautious trade papers like boxing monthly went way overboard .
He was supposed to be the new Pernell Whittiker,Pernell with a punch !
Didnt quite turn out that way but he has hit the heights ,suppose in the end some expectations are impossible to meet.
