At the moment I guess Haye is the only british HW I'd class as a possible world beater, but we've certainly a few potentials.

If we're talking prospects then Tyson Fury and David Price immediately come to mind, and to see those 2 fight eachother after Price beat Fury in the amateurs, could be a goodun, plus they're both huge! That'd be the fight I want before either of them move up.

Although saying that, Fury is fighting on the undercard of Froch v Taylor at the end of April, I'm guessing he'll be against some guy from the US. If he puts on a solid performance in the US and they end up loving him for it, he'll be well on his way and might not even have to fight Price.

How lucky for Fury to be fighting in the US on his 5th pro fight!....most other brit heavyweights must be bloody envious. Which shows exactly why it helps to have a big mouth and be 6ft8 or so, makes him a crowd puller.

As for Rogan, I really, really want him to do well, but obviously very doubtful whether he has the years left in him or the talent to get any further than British/European level.

    I'm sure there's others....but I'm drawing a bit of a blank at the mo I'm afraid...

It's crap as well. But the US top prospect smashes all the UK top prospects.

Thanks for pointing out that blatantly obvious and equally terrible pun.

There seem to be times where Britian produces some prospects but they seem to come at one time then we wait ages for another crop. Not as big a scene as the US so they get overlooked and have to find overseas opponents that are inferior quality. At least Fury is heading off to the US so if he develops well maybe Price will follow and take the fight to the Yanks.
There has to be some big gambles and investments early by managers/promoters where they have to get the best training and work in gyms with some big names. They also need to develop at a good pace where every fight carries some risk and not every 10th fight after a series of roadsweepers.
Good luck to the new crop, may the days of the horizontal british heavyweight be buried !!

    lol

He was like 6th choice for tyson and only got the nod because of the fact he was in with warren.

If you wanna talk british heavyweight prospects its only fair you add Derek "Delboy" Chisora who already has a solid win over Sam Sexton to his name.

There are no stand out prospects right now and tyson fury is hardly going to be the next big thing as long as he continues to punch himself. But is there any major worldwide heavyweight prospect outside of britain??

PS:Rogan would knock the shite out of every american heavyweight right now!

I see the British scene and dont see them gettin much further. But then lets see what the European and world standard is after they have had 10-15 fights instead of the 1 or 2 they have had right now.
