    Default Steve Cunningham

So is he just gonna wait on Adamek to give him another shot?

Why is he being so lazy?

I expect so... He's shown in the last 3 years that he is willing to take long breaks inbetween fights.

I believe he's going to face Braithwaite in an IBF eliminator. His promoter is Don King so don't expect to see Cunningham-vs-Braithwaite any time soon

The IBF have a rule stating that a fighter cannot get a title shot coming off a loss so that ruled out an immediate rematch with Adamek.

My problem is that there are so many fights out there for Cunningham to take, certainly some that would merit getting back in there with Adamek.

I'm a fan of Cunningham's, but you are right in questioning his absence. The fight with Adamek was in December and as of now, Cunningham has nothing lined up. There are fights out there at cruiserweight, but I imagine he is waiting to land a fight for more money than the other options bring to the table. On the other hand, a fight with Guillermo Jones would be a big fight at cruiserweight. To a lesser extent, so would a fight with Ola Afolabi.

That article is from February though and said the fight should be signed shortly. Here we are at the end of May.......................

I don't think that Cunningham understands that to get a following you have to fight enough for the public to recognize you.

Cunningham has fought good opposition & has the ability to hang with anyone at Cruiser but his inactivity is worrying! He should have got straight back in there against a Godfrey or Arslan after his surperb fight with Adamek & built on the momentum & interest he recieved

I'd love to see Guillermo Jones/ Steve Cunningham 2, but both guys are spending far to long away from the ring...

Cunningham will return July 11 in an off tv eliminator against Wayne Braithwaite.

Great glad to finally see him getting back in the ring. Hopefully after this one and he faces Adamek again.

cunningham, braithwaite, jones, banks are all in the current league of cruserweight also rans!!

Cruiserweight is the dumping ground of the 175 and heavyweight division. If your struggling to dominate at cruserweight youve absoloutely no chance of ever doing anything at heavyweight.....however shit that division is

Adamek/ Cunningham was a great fight & deserves a rematch, Cunningham still has to be considered near the top & dangerous!

Jones dominated Arslan & he's come all the way up from 154, if he was more active he could make some noise at both cruiser & heavy imo

    I disagree.

As the boxers in the heavyweight division have become increasingly big with many of the top fighters above 6'5, fighters that stand 6'1-6'3 and fight at 210-215 have a big disadvantage. That is where the cruiserweight division comes in. Lite-heavyweights.
