Pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao has ordered his promoter Bob Arum to make the fight with WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto. Arum already has a date set down on paper, November 14 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Pacquiao sat ringside and watched Cotto win a split decision over Joshua Clottey in New York's Madison Square Garden.

Arum told Michael Marley of The Examiner that Pacquiao was impressed with Cotto's massive amount of support from the thousands of Puerto Rican fans at MSG.

“Manny told me what to do. Manny told me, ‘Go ahead, make that fight.’ So it will go Nov. 14 at the MGM Grand here in Vegas,” Arum said. "He was impressed by Cotto’s fan support and told me it reminded him of how the British fans stand with Ricky Hatton."

Arum said the serious cut suffered by Cotto above his left eye will not prevent the fight from going forward on the proposed date.
“No because it’s not that bad. Miguel is delighted to get a fight against Manny, trust me. Miguel very much wants this fight. It will be a sensational fight the way they attack,” Arum said.

    Yahoooo !!!

The thing is that Cotto commented if Manny wants fight him have to be no more under the 145 pnds.........

I hopes Manny could accept that condition..............

I can't see an issue on weight if both fighters want the fight. The only issue I can see as potential is if Cotto hold's out for a bigger purse split. Otherwise Arum will make it happen since he gets paid double for this one or does he?

Pacquiao is going to bludgeon Cotto. To tell the truth, out of the big three (PBF, Mosley, Cotto) this is the fight I least wanted to see.

The way Cotto looks now I don't want Cotto suffering the same fate Hatton and De La Hoya fell into. Fighting Pacquiao, who has improved overall over the last couple of years. While Cotto, like when Hatton and De La Hoya fought Pacquiao, there overall ability have decreased. I hope Cotto doesn't take this fight.

    Yup totally agree

Pac saw what a lot of other people saw, a lot of flaws in Cotto's game. I see the fight probably happening at 147 even. He wouldn't be calling him out like this if Cotto had KO'ed Clottey.

I'm confident in a Pac victory, possible stoppage. I'll believe the fight is actually happening when it's signed though.

I said I thought Manny would win before the Clottey fight but this is still an interesting fight, Cotto could at least revert back somewhat to the search and destroy mode which is where he's at his best.

Still my reasoning for picking Manny was that I thought Manny's foot speed, lateral movement and hand speed would cause Cotto problems. But its still a hell of a fight on paper IMO. Nobody would look good against Clottey. I would still pick Cotto in a Mosley rematch.

I think people are overreacting. Cotto suffered a nasty cut that impaired his vision. Even Amir Khan was able to look good after assaulting Barrera's head with an axe. Cuts can make a difference in a fight and it did here too.

Cotto would probably bust Pac up even now. It's interesting hearing all this talk about Cotto being past his best because I really don't think he is. I would really like to see Manny walk through half a dozen Cotto body shots unscathed.

Bring it on, I say. I'm getting sick of the little midget and his big mouthed trainer.

Haha! I shall copiously vomit all over the place. Might even include a bit of projectile puking in for good measure.

I'm just cynical. People are saying Cotto is past it and here is Manny saying let's have a Cotto fight. Get out there and fight Mosley, you little poof! I'm not into this looking for weaknesses and then trying to make the match nonsense. I want the best to fight the best. Mosley is a cracking fight and it's a shame they won't fight him.

I hope Cotto has plenty left and beats him up. And let's not go into this catcweight of 141 and quarter pounds rubbish. You want a WW, well go up to WW and fight him. I'm sick of this pansified drivel.

I'd love to see Pac get beat more than anyone, but I just don't see it, Cotto hasn't been overwhelmed like what Manny will do. Cotto had some nice footwork last night and he sure will need it.

Again with the cut, I see Manny slicing Cotto's face up and winning with a late stoppage. If they are talking November, will that cut be totally healed?? He will be testing it thats for sure.

It's not just Clottey that has been able to tag Cotto frequently.

The little guy is going to learn real quick what a true welterweight is, not some weight drain fighter that's shot. I have visions of Pacman being KO by an vicious body shot like the Hopkins-DLH fight a few years back.

And by the way be a man and fight a fighter at his best, no catch weights.

As I've said, be prepared to get sick more... a nauseating sick...

Even before the Clottey-Cotto fight, I already pick PAC to defeat Cotto... The only one I pick over PAC is Mosley...

IMO Clottey soften Cotto some more so I think it will be more easier for PAC to handle Cotto now... Cotto been in so many wars recently... The one with Clottey, Margacheato (ohh that's so brutal), Mosley and Judah while PAC has a streak of easy fights where PAC either KO'ed or dominated his opponents in one-sided fashion...

Cotto going straight to PAC in November after the Clottey war will only make PAC's life a lot easier....

I would not be surprised if PBF will issue a challenge on Cotto, knowing Cotto is now vulnerable.
Make no mistake though Cotto had poblems against granite chinned pressure punchers in Big Cheat'O and Clottey, PBF isnt a big puncher. Go ahead Floyd.
