I think he probably is. I would say he surpassed Elvis and Muhammad Ali who I would say make up the top 3.

The coverage has been pretty immense and in his prime he was huge. It's difficult to say most famous, but he certainly made his impact for better or for worse.

He's arguably the most recognisable. I mean Jesus, the apostle Paul, Ceaser, Cleopatra, Moses, the Buddha would all be better known in terms of people having heard of them but none of us would recognise any of them if they came and sat next to us. (yes I know they are dead but you get my drift)

I would say Elvis, People still see him every once in a while and still talk about the Guy.
