Newcastle/England manager legend Sir Bobby Robson has died at the age of 76.


Truly a geordie legend through and through!!

Gutted!!Some hardcore football legend.

RIP Sir Bobby....best Newcastle manager i can remember.

It was not a surprise, but it is still sad, a true giant in the British game.

He seemed to keep his love of the game going to the very end. He was at the EnglandXI/Germany match last Sunday, where the England side gained a little revenge, with a penalty winner!

I watched that game from St James Park llive on it4,he looked frail but he was still there showing his love of the great game as he always did!

I have nothing but respect for Bobby Robson. A stand up fellow if ever there was one. He had a good innings, RIP.

Bob was a top guy , R.I.P

i just found out, dammit he is an absolute legend, he had a good innings tho, will be sorely missed, alot of great people have died of late,

always came across as a genuine and good guy ....... he'll be missed.

(wont stop me posting some jokes later though!)

had to bow out of a tele conference at work today when I got this news via text

Bobby was a god to me as a kid - I am a lifelong Ipswich fan since 1977 - and though expected it was a bit of a shock today.

Tonight I am going to watch my old Ipswich dvds - the cup final and the The Boys of '81.

Sir Bobby Robson is queueing outside the Pearly Gates, waiting with the other recently deceased to be let in to Heaven, when he is surprised to see a familiar figure with dark wavy hair and a sheepskin coat approaching Saint Peter.
"Look, young man," says the man loudly (and in a slightly nasal voice) to Saint Peter, "You need to change your attitude and work harder, or you're off the team. All right?"
Saint Peter says something quietly and deferentially to the man, who then strides off.
When Sir Bobby gets to the front of the line, he asks Saint Peter, "Wasn't that Brian Clough telling you off?"
"Oh no," Peter replies, "that was God, he just thinks he's Brian Clough."
