They were 35 and 36, their last performances before their respective fights didn't show their past form, they must have known they were close to retirement. During training they were confident about the weight but afterwards they say it effected them. Why did Oscar come in so low? Why wasn't a clause inserted that would cancel the Mayweather Marquez fight should Floyd exceed the limit? I know it wasn't a title fight but they must have realized the handicap the cathweight itself faced. In his post fight interview De la Hoya said "when you face a great fighter like Manny, then it is almost expected". I know it was 24/7 but why did Marquez suddenly reveal he drank his own urine when he said he'd done it his last five fights. As soon as the fight ends another Golden Boy Promotion is hyped even by Oscar during Marquez's post fight conference. I don't wanna piss people off but with the ammount of money at hand I just can't imagine how such elite professionals with so much access to sporting science, at their age and with the history so stacked against them could honestly believe they would not be significantly handicapped.
