    Default Roach rips Floyds performance

Roach rips Floyd performance | Fightnews - Boxing News Updated 24/7

I don't agree with Roach saying it won't be equal pay and Mayweather needs them more than they need him i think they need eachother equally now to prove to the fans who is P4P#1. This should be a 50/50 purse and just get on with it for the fans boxers are turning in to bloody Divas and Manny has to get by Cotto first.

And if its true about Floyd vs Marquez doing 1.6 million ppv perhaps Roach and Arum are wrong and Pacquiao isnt the bigger draw if Pacquiao beats Cotto just do 50/50 and make the fight.

Forget it, you will never have 1.6 millions ppv, it is just mere propaganda to foster the interest in a future match with Floyd, even the ressort where the fight happened was around 80% Pro-Marquez; They had to postponed the fight to the mexican celebration because there was not enough tickets sold or ppv sold, it is very unlikely that all of a sudden within a month, these amounts would have doubled.
I am not really a Pacquiao fan but seriously, you can't even compare one second the drag-in that Pacman drags compared to Mayweather, we will have the answer soon but this 1.6 million number comes from Kevin Iole from Yahoo and as far as I'Ve read it, nobody else is backing up such amount yet and most of the specialists are expecting between 300 to 500k maximum

De la Hoya-Trinidad did 1.4 million ppv and that was a massive fight, mind you it may have been 10 years ago but nowhere does the Floyd-Marquez fight surpasses that. I'm still waiting for a credible source on the fight's ppv numbers.

I wouldn't disagree with it being 50/50... There are other fights out there for Pac if he beats Cotto.. But Roach says "He needs us, we don't need him", well i'd say that a fight with Mayweather and a chance to beat him would cement Pac's legacy is everyone's eyes including ANY boxing expert...

You listen to any one of Mayweathers fights, and every commentator gives him so much respect. It's almost impossible not to be in awe of what he can do to otherwise class A fighters... If Pac gets past Cotto, he should go into the Mayweather negotiation table thinking about the fact he has more to earn from this fight than just money... I agree Pac is the drawcard, but the respect for beating Mayweather is what Mayweather holds the key to...

Fights like that shouldn't be missed because of money negotiations.. I think it's the fight that everyone would want including the fighters, and either should be happy with 50/50..... Arum will want his boy Pac to kick Floyd's ass, so I think 50/50 will be fine in the end regardless of what Roach says...

50-50 I would disagree personally, we could go close to a deal like that (example 48-52) but 50-50 seems a bit over rated for someone who doesn't get a big audience like Floyd. Anyway, if I would be Roach, my concern would be: what weight do they want to go and how to make sure that the episode with Marquez won't happen again when Floyd outscaled by a good 2 pounds.

floyd has and always will put result before performance

yes he probably could of looked far better and perhaps even should of got a guy who was fighting 2 divisions too high up out of there.

But its still a far FAR more convincing performance than manny ever did against JMM and if anything those that believe pacquiao has NO chance against floyd are even more justified

I actually think the PPV watch is having a negative affect right now......

I disagree with Roach's perspective. It's not weather or not Pacquiao needs Mayweather or Mayweather needs Pacquiao. Certainly if they don't face each other it's a missed opportunity for both of them to make money, but I see it as boxing can use them both. For boxing to have intrigue, it needs the good, the bad but not the ugly.

So why not the ugly, because ugly is a turn off.

I honestly don't think Roach wants Pacquiao to fight Mayweather, he knows what will happen.

Roach is funny on this one....floyd in his first fight after two years didn't Ko marquez, but no one will question who actually "beat" marquez. I for one say scoreboard and manny won case closed. I just think that was a silly point for him to bring up when he whoooped marquez in the first six rounds more than pac did in two fights. Floyd like the kitch's can be boring if you watch boxing with mma type expections for results, but as far as actual boxing which this sport is watching the chess matches are just as fun as the Ko's. Not klitch's or floyds fault for the lack of the ability of thier opponets to make these guys work in the ring. What's easier to grab a bag of cash just laying on the ground or a bag of cash surrounded by opponets punches. All these guys at this level now-a-days are taking the easiest fight for the biggest payday.....but only some get flack for it. Legacy don't pay bills, i don't blame em.

Pacquiao and Roach better focus their energy and attention on Cotto or there won't even be a prospective Mayweather fight to talk about.

Trainers, even those of Roach's calibre, who persist in talking shit about fighters piss me off to no end. Just shut your fucking mouth, do your job, and let your fighter take care of business. I know that sometimes it's gamesmanship, but when you do it as often as guys like Freddy Roach or Jack Loew it's just being an asshole.

Roach saying this and overlooking Cotto, makes me want to root for Cotto.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Its wreckless for Roach and Manny to focus elsewhere, and pretty disrespectful to Cotto.I honestly am thinking Mayweather/Pacquiao fight will die on the vine over the numbers if Cotto does not make it all null and void first.
