Default Your thoughts on Ike Ibeabuchi vs. David Tua?

now this is a good HW fight. here are two HW fighters who can in-fight with a high degree of technical aptitude (ibeabuchi more so than tua)

    much much better than klitschko-lewis.

i've no doubt ibeabuchi would've slaughtered wlad.

Based on what? Ike never fought a fighter that big. Tua and Byrd were smaller than him. How would Ike of dealt with Wlad's jab?

Ike would have broken Wlad's jaw. Ike would close the distance on him and hurt him badly. Ike by Ko whenever he felt like it.

It's one thing to close the distance against a fly puncher like Chris Byrd than it is against a monster puncher in Wladimir

It is - though Byrd is alot quicker of foot and harder to hit than Wlad. Is Wlad's jab harder than Tuas hooks? Nope - so Ike will keep coming and keep coming and Wlad would have nowhere to escape. Wlad don't like pressure and Ike will bring it along with that high volume of punching and his granite chin.

    Ike by Ko.

Ice...that you buddy.Have been rethinking both of these guys alot lately.Honestly Ike was fed on a collective run of 50/50 fighters until the Tua fight.Awesome vs Tua and Byrd...but that was it.Helluva fight and showed the best and worst of Tua.Like Tua,but think hes become over rated.Ike also but we'll never know how he would have ended up.That lack of self control and focus could have very well carried over into the ring against top tier fighters and come back to bite him.

    maybe i'm overrating ibeabuchi.

i think he just catches wlad after being outboxed for a few rounds.

Ike was a strong physical fighter with a weak mind. And he would have been found out eventually. I think his frustration with the way Wladimer fights would have boiled over and he would have had a break down in the ring. Ike had everything except a mind.

I think Ike would've been a nightmare for Wlad. But I think Vitali would beat Ike by decision. Ike was a murderous puncher with a cast iron chin. Wlad would have to resort to footwork and staying away from Ike getting in all 12 rounds because Wlad's questionable chin would be getting hit by the strongest punch they have ever taken. I just can't see Wlad dancing around avoiding a crashing bomb for 12 rounds. Wlad had scary moments against Samuel Peter. Ike is a more polished Peter, harder puncher, better chin, and more relentless. I would be worried for Wlad in this fight. His chin is his weak link.

Wlad would have destroyed Ike......Ike overpowered his fighters which is what everyone thinks they can do to Wlad (all they need to do is get to that glass jaw, should be easy)...then they taste the jackhammer jab, straight rights, and left hooks..........

Wlad and his supposed glass jaw are KO'ing universally recognized top 10 heavyweights every fight......

Not being biased cause I'm a kiwi but I thought Tua won that fight!

But your right it was a great fight. If I remember right I think one judge had it 117-111 for Ike; now that's BS right there. No way was it that wide.

I'm hoping Tua takes on Kali Meehan next as it would be another big fight for NZ!!!

BTW I think Wlad decisions Ibeabuchi

destroy ike? get the hell outta here. wlad looked like shit against ibragimov and vs. tony thompson(two fights completely absent of skill i might add), and he destroys a technically sound monster like ibeabuchi? wlad can't destroy shit.

Destroy was obviously to strong a word. But Wlad didn't look like shiit against Ibragimov and Thompson. He dominated both.

I Think Ike Would Have Been World Champion If He Didnt Go Off The Rails He Had Everything But Lost His Humility And Went Crazy And Now Rests In Prison Where He Isnt A Model Prisoner And Probably Be In There For The Rest Of His Life....but I Personally Think If He Had Stayed Spritually Disciplined(kept Religious And Devout Which He Was When Fighting Tua)and Humble Would Not Have Got In The Trouble He Is In Now...the Saddest Thing Bout His Tua Fight Was That He Developed One Very Huge Ego And Before A Crash Goes Pride....all Up I Think He Could Have Been World Champion He Had It All And Lost It All A Pity

Who exactly do we have on his record to conclude how he would fair vs a Wlad style let alone a sharp jabber.Anthony WadeThe man was fury vs Tua and caught a light Bird (I cheered) but what else.He was full frontal and walked in often...no straight set up.Solid Body combos and volume but dude had some flaws and less than 20 fights, seriously?
