Thread: Erdei Vacates WBO Title - LH Linear Title Broken

For those hardcore boxing historians Zsolt Erdei vacates the WBO Lightheavy weight title. Some fans consider this to be the true LH title. When Michalcewski defeated IBF/WBA Champ Virgil Hill he became World LH Champ. Gonzales beat Michalcewski and Zsolt Erdei won the WBO title from Gonzales.

Now as a point of contention, during this time Roy Jones Jr. was P4P in the world as well as WBC/IBF/WBA Champ. Since Michalcewski was only fighting RJJ retreads some will discredit his title claims.

What do you guys think

Why did he vacate?

He's moving up in weight to fight for the WBC Cruiser title.

I agree about the linear deal. At the time Jones had just won the VACANT WBC title while these guys were unifying titles. Roy had just moved up to LH and hadn't really proven himself the best of the lot hile Hill and Michalcewski had.

Dawson needs to fight Hopkins or unify the division to gain linear recognition.
