Thread: Who do you think is the better Klitschko now?

I think Wlad is.

I think his new style, while kind of boring, takes away some of the chin issues which is why I would have rated Vitali higher before, he's faster, younger, hits harder, better jab, etc.

Any thoughts?

I don't think Wlad hits harder than Vitali. Better technically and faster, I think so but I think that Vitali is a bit stronger. Also, as it is possible to flat down Wlad and not Vitali, I would tend to say that at this moment, Vitali's more dangerous. I wouldn't fight any of the 2 brothers for obvious reasons but if I absolutely have to pick one, I chose Wlad because a lucky punch could always save me, not with Vitali.

Yea it's an odd one.. You can say Wlad is better for every reason under the sun, but the fact remains he's never going to beat anybody Vitali couldn't, or hasn't done so anyways, and he's always going to be more vulnerable. The chin issue is always there, regardless of any adjustments he makes to his game. Wlad might not get hit these days, but your not going to see him take a big punch from basically anyone, and you can never rule it out in boxing. Can you think of anyone that Wlad would realistically be a bigger favourite over than Vitali would? The division is in such a state that you can pretty well only make an arguement for someone having a punchers chance against Wlad, but with Vitali even that isn't there. Furthermore, I would definetly expect Vitali to win if they ever actually fought with the intent to hurt one another. The older brother always wins unless he got completely shafted in the genetics department... Even then it's usually the case, I have a friend who is like Helen Keller trying to play sports and he still handles his bro who is actually a really athletic kid 3 years younger, identical frame.

I guess it depends on how you look at it....

Wlad is the more skillful boxer who really is the complete packGE...hIS CHIN NOT AS shakey as many think but he still panics a bit and is gun shy on the return but man he is a specime for sure...

Vitali is so much the fighter of the two I mean he will get down and go toe to toe if need be...As boring as he seems at times he really is damn good in the ring...It is almost as if his opponents have so little to offer he is bored in there...

Hard pick for me IMO each has his strengths in a different way

Wladimir has ALWAYS been the better BOXER he's technically sound, he's got a great jab, one of the best left hooks in the division and a killer right cross. Wlad COULD get KO'd but he's never in danger of being outboxed.

Vitali is awkward, he gets more KO's but I've noticed since his comeback he has not sat down on his punches and therefore I think you take away Vitali's scary power and just give him above average power then it makes him more vulnerable as the years go on.

Wladimir Klitschko maybe better technically, but if you had a time machine. And you could only pick one brother to fight some of the ATG Heavyweight's which one would you choose ?

Because i know what one i would choose Vitali Klitschko, atleast i could count on his toughness. Skill is only a part of boxing Lyle and yes Wladimir Klitschko is more skilled.

But Vitali Klitschko is mentally tougher, and physically he's tougher. And he's still pretty skilled himself with good power to boot.

I think Vitali Klitschko was beating Chris Byrd clearly, although Chris Byrd was coming on. But then put it this way Lyle, could Wladimir Klitschko have beaten Corrie Sanders ? could he have been competitive with Lennox Lewis ?

I always thought Wlad was more technically sound.

Vitali is mentally tougher and has more heart.

I'm sorry, hands down, Vitali is WAYYYYY more dangerous. Wlad has to keep his guard up, has to tie smaller fighters up on the inside because if he doesn't his only choice is to get into a fire fight and get his chin cracked or run out of gas. Vitali will keep his hands low and give you peeks just so he can pop you. The guy is completely relaxed and can take a crack regardless. For me I just picture the 2 in the ring against each other and it plays out the same. Wlad can't tie him up, Vitali will just duck back from the straight right and counter until all Wlad throws is jabs and he can maintain a workright his brother can't.
