Been working here for 5 years now, too. Thus, I feel that urine tests aren't enough and the blood test is sufficient. The only reason these obsolete tests are still used is because they are cheap!!! That's why I feel the standard test WON'T change. How is a state gonna budget for every fightcard? Manny, dog, homie, pare, amigo....please take the effing test already so we can have this fight already!!!
Cost is definitely the prohibitive factor here. That's why I say we should start with title fights and work our way down from there. Testing would run about $400 per test and there are usually 2 titles on a given vegas card. 6 tests x 4 fighters = 24 blood tests or about. So we are looking at $9,600 total or $2,400 from each purse to cover it. It's not a bad price to pay to clean up the sport. I hope that this gains some traction and becomes more common place.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.
