Only took 17 years in the making. Should be an interesting fight.![]()
We should call it the battle of the wheel chairs. So it also means Bute won't fight Hopkins then, so the Miranda or better Pavlik's trail seem to be a bit closer.

That's the way it is, not the way it ends
I actually still wanted to see this and I'm glad it is going ahead. I think Jones Jr. will put up a good showing too.
I think Hopkins will make him pay.
I can see Jones outboxing him, but whether Jones can keep it up for 12 good rounds without getting his chin checked too much is the issue. You struggle to imagine Hopkins ever being stopped, but Jones can go at any point in the fight. If Jones manages to go the distance, I can see him being up on points and taking the win.
It's a curious fight for me. It would be hilarious if Jones beats him at this stage of the game and after the Green debacle.
Roy can mount a big start. He can probably mount an impressive opening maybe stealing the first two three rounds.
But Hopkins has never minded throwing away some opening rounds or boxing negatively to tire an opponent.
I think he'll drag Roy into deep water and literally drown him when they get there.

I think this is an embarrassment and possibly more insulting to boxing fans than Floyd-Manny being called off. And Roy also filing the protest that the Danny Green fight was stopped prematurely has made me lose all respect for that punk. If it's not him being weight drained, or losing on purpose to get back at his father, I'm sure this mark will come up with another sad excuse once Bernard executes his has-been @ss for good. Hopkins, for pushing for this fight to get made, also loses points as far as I'm concerned.
He sure doesnt want to lean back on any ropes and play around shoulder rolling , he hasnt got the reflexes any longer and the more you get sparked the more it opens the way for the next little sleep , at his age.
Jones still has a lot of tools, but his reactions and more importantly legs have slowed right down.
Movement was the one thing he had going against hopkins, I can't see him beating Hopkins by standing infront of him or laying on the ropes.

Snap.
heheh, yeah I just noticed when I saw my reply... I was thinking what the hell... surely if I'd noticed your post I would have just quoted you and said "I agree"?
Guessed we must have posted basically the same thing at the same time... spooky 0_o
What a joke. Hopkins the legacy fighter (). Clearly Old Hop is guaranteed a bigger slice of the pie now and Old Roy is still worth more moneywise than anyone else around that weight.
I would love it if Roy sparked him.
