Default Happy normal sunday (and not V-Day)

    Dear Saddo friends,

I wish you cordially a very good normal sunday and I hope that you won't get caught too much into the gears of the most insipid celebration of them all, the V-Day. Why? No, I am not in particular distressed or frustrated emotionally talking so to speak. I just strongly dislike V-Day for a few reasons:

    1) it reduces greatly what love really is and force us to think the whole thing in the scope of a love between a man and a woman. Don't we love our friends, parents and other family members as well? Is love really the cheap heart shaped box romance between a man who found his "soulmate"? Definitely not, and V-Day do not answer this definition correctly.

2)If you need a special day like that to show your significant other that you love him/her, you definitely have a huge problem in your couple and it might even be on the collapsing brink: Love is something that should come spontaneously on a weekly if not daily basis, it is not something that we shall display collectively all together on a given date.

    3) Commercial bullcrap spear headed by a dumbass flying blonde mock wearing a diaper in the middle of winter and using a bow off hunting season. Sure, economy has to rule on, is it a reason to overspend for a V-day special extortion menu, cheesy heart shape box and tacky red velvet "you're my only valentine" card? NO.

    4) These events are just catalyst for depressed peoples to feel even more distressed and alone, we don't exactly need to make so much promotion about this fact all around to make sure they can't avoid that fact and live their week-end peacefully and normally.

SO for all of these reasons, I did set my clock at 5:30 am, got my red and black hunting jacket and my very own personal bow so the little cherub ignoring cold and feels what he makes tons of peoples endure each years by forcing them, with the tips of his arrows, to fall in love against their will with peoples they shouldn't ... And My flair and my skills haven't disappointed me. I saved the day, you can all go to your occupations normally, you're safe now, my friends.

    Happy Sunday.

    I missed this thread.

I will make a very important point here and that is that Valentines day sucks. I mean really, it really really sucks. All this giving of pink cards and tasteless chocolates etc etc. It is all utter bollocks.

Valentines day is my birthday which is far more important than some piss poor saints day for first time kissers. Forget that nonsense, it is my birthday and that is the only thing people the world over should be thinking about.

Anyway, it is over now and as I am 30 I don't think I shall be celebrating any more birthdays. The Valentines woofters can have their day back for all I care.

At the end of the day Valentines day is a corporatist ripoff which induces silly people to pretend that my birthday has some kind of symmetry with a mythical day designed for romance. It is all utter bollocks. Obviously.

Actually, I was a bit surprised to have not even one feedback for this one Actually, I do agree with you all down the line, it's meaningless and all the aesthetic associated with it is of poor tastes as far as I am concerned. God thanks, it's over now and here comes the Easter bunny now..

Now don't get me started on Easter. What a charade that has become with all the oversized and overprized Easter eggs! They are nice to eat, but you really have to ask...what is the bloody point? Are any of these kids who are gobbling chocolate really thinking about the religious connotations of Easter? Even the religious aspects of Easter I find to be totally absurd and implausible too. Just another day designed make the parents fork out on a load of old rubbish. You want a bar of chocolate then have one? But why bother with Easter eggs? All that wrapping and waste. Yuck.
