Default McCain's senate seat in trouble

Conservative JD Hayworth (formerly a local sports news caster out here in AZ) is running for his senate seat in the upcoming election. Hayworth has been very critical about how moderate McCain has been in the Senate and frequently makes it a point to bring up the issues McCain has changed his mind about. Hayworth has already gained support from Sheriff Joe Arpaio who is a very influential local official.

Hayworth has not made any statements about how he plans to represent the state of Arizona other than "bring back conservative values" which pretty much guarantees he will win. Hayworth is a member of the Tea Party and has the support of Sarah Palin, I received an automated call from Palin (at my work) asking me to support Hayworth.

Newly elected MA Senator Scott Brown sent an automated call to my work the day after he was elected, asking me to support McCain and praised him for his support.

Just thought since everyone seemed so interested in McCain last year I would bring my local politics to light.

Quite interesting actually... Do you think he would retire if he feels that the heat is too much or would he still try till the end?

I can't see him backing down, he has done a lot for veteran's affairs and there is a very big retirement community out here that contains many veterans. I really think Hayworth has the support to take his seat, but McCain won't go quietly into the night.

McCain is a good guy, he'll be ok win or lose. He's been very good at bipartisan legislation.

This Tea Party thing is strange...I'm awaiting them to self destruct. I've said it before and I'll say it again, "You can't be isolationist in this day and age" it's naive. You cannot abandon people who immigrated here especially the ones who did it legally.

It is a strange thing, they sure have a lot of momentum right now, and they have got a lot of wealthy people to back the movement.

I'm not a Conservative by any means, but I'm hoping they wake and realize Sarah Palin is dumb. It's dumbfounding that anyone would see her as a representative of anything they believe in.
