    Default Wages/Tax

Does anyone know how i can work out if im due a tax rebate or point me in the right direction? I have had two jobs this year, one as a travel rep abroad so my yearly wage is very low yet my tax is reasonably high.

Would i be due a tax rebate or how would i find out?

    Earnt - £8360.2
    Tax paid - £1130.80
    Tax code - 647LM1

Doess anyone understand all this business?

    Any help is appreciated!

You may have paid twice because you did not let them know that they were separate jobs, it happened to me.

Although it does not seem that you have been excessively over charged.

You should call the tax office directly and at least look at their online site and read a few things. Everything you need to know should be there.

Deffo owed a tax rebate mate is that what you have earned over 12 months?

If so you get over 6 grand before your taxed, off the top of my head you should be taxed about 300-500 pounds for your 8360 so you should be entitled yo about half of that.

I get taxed 25% you get taxed 12%, so why are you worrying, unless Skel is right about the first £6,000 is tax free.

Works out at 6475 I think so you can earn up to that amount before you are taxed so if the thread starter earnt that amount in a 12 month tax year deffo due about half of that back.

You're not meant to be able to work it out for yourself.
If it was easy there would be 1000's of accountants on the dole.
