Default John Murray v Gary Buckland

Just starting now these two are quite exciting fighters could be a bit of a classic but I think Murray has a bit to much class.

Murray was excellent and stone cold. Good fighter.

Murray is a good fighter and his defence was much better tonight, his head still a little stationary for me needs to get that moving as he moves up a level or two. First off dump fat Mick and get with Hatton he has all the contacts with Golden Boy and all the 135 fighters are with Golden boy Katsidis,Diaz,Marquez makes sense I guarantee he went to Hatton we would see Murray v a Diaz or similar fighter on a huge PPV bill in Vegas, he is wasting his career with fat useless Mick.

Murray is good enough to win a title for sure imo.

That was a right good dust-up and no mistake. Buckland was brave and gave everything he had, and did get through to Murray a few times. Murray however showed he's above domestic class, winning the Lonsdale belt outright, and is probably on his way to a world title shot. His defence is leaky though, Buckland caught him flush plenty of times, although didn't have the power to really trouble him.

Wherever Murray goes from here, it'll be entertaining.

We are two of John's biggest fans mate, great performance tonight considering he had been out for 7 months and in that fight only went 4 rounds, he looked sharp tonight lets hope he can kick on, he has never really had his chin tested that is my only worry but if he has a decent chin I think he would be to strong for Kevin Mitchell for me.

Your prob not wrong there pal. I really think we haven't seen the best yet. He has been pretty inactive for a young fighgter since day dot really. Taken a few shit match-up at short notice. He'll step up more when the occasions suits i'm sure of it. And as Super says, where ever he goes from here it will certainly be entertaining. He could take a few top good fighters to hell and back for sure.

Sorry but no way, i like John Murray and i think he's a good honest fighter. But if he got a gift decision against Youseef Al Hamidi. Who gave him all sorts of trouble with his stick and move style.

Then Kevin Mitchell would totally befuddle him, John Murray is simply too one dimensional and he come's straight forward in straight lines. Kevin Mitchell would use angles and totally outbox him.

John Murray should avoid boxers and fight someone like Juan Diaz, David Diaz.

You seem to always mention the fight against Al Hamidi that was an off night John Murray preforms better when the opponents are higher standard, so now Mitchell is some boxing technition? Mitchell was about to be stopped by Carl Johanasen till he turned it round at 130, Murray is a big lightweight, Mitchell against Murray would be a good fight my money is on Murray.

Thats because John Murray has never ever met anyother boxers, except maybe John Thaxton but he's old and shot. John Murray looks good against fighters that come towards, because that's all he can do he's very one dimensional.

Kevin Mitchell was never close to being stopped by Carl Johanneson, it was a back and forth battle. But Kevin Mitchell never looked like being stop at any point in the fight.

And thats only because Kevin Mitchell stood and traded with him, he's an improved boxer and he has more dimensions than John Murray.

And i don't care care if that was an off night, John Murray still shouldn't be getting gift decisions off fighters with losing record's. And that fight just tells me he can't adjust and he'd be picked apart by a good boxer.

Did you miss the Lee Mcallister fight? He is the best boxer he has ever faced.
