Default Ali interview before the Foreman fight... kinda reminded me of Mayweather now

I know at the time no one gave Ali a chance of winning this fight but i really don't think Ali rated his own chances

I don't get it. The only two thinks that are remotely similar about the two are the outside styles and the self proclaimed "the greatest".

Other than that, the two are completely different. First thing, Ali is likable. He has a pleasant demeanor. Ali's confidence is beaming it dosent appear that he wants to convince you he is the best. He emphasizes that he does it in the ring. Whereas Mayweather always points to his zero as proof that he is the best. Not that Mayweather hasn't shown us in the ring he just seems to have this stupid idea that he can convince everyone with his mouth. Mayweather might be using a persona but it's often difficult to tell because his walk of life appears to be the same. Ali's persona was obviously fake and he often showed us his person.

i just thought i would share the vid as i love this old stuff

for me it was the first part... saying he thinks he'll be out of boxing in a year and suggested he didn't have to fight Foreman.... he seemed like it didn't matter because he created the cash.

and the "i'm getting old" and other comments made me think he really didn't fancy his chances.

just reminded me of mayweather downplaying the biggest fight of this generation

i was not putting him in the same class... in the words of Holmes "he aint good enough to carry his jockstrap"
