Basically fightnews has him/his handlers saying not to take anything away from Monte but David had a hurt shoulder.

Tua is a Wanker. He no longer deserves the ''Contender'' tag.

...the sun was in his eyes, he thought he saw fan man dropping to the ring again, his tooth hurt, blah blah blah. His shoulder would have been fine if he'd have won. Tua lost for one simple reason, barrett hit his ass too much and too hard.

Tua was never that good anyway he is just a 1 dimensional boxer with a decent punch. This excuse has come out abit late.

Props to Barrett for putting him on his arse

Never good ? I must disagree with that statement. He was a terror when he was in his prime and very well taught by the Duva's. Lot's of great head movement and knew how to cut the ring off and get that big left hook into action.And for christs sake was in good shape at about 225 lbs. As soon as he went his own way he just fell apart and became a plodding one punch fighter.

david tua i believe was as overrated as they come. sure he had a great, powerful left hook but little else.

He lost to Ike lbeabuchi and Lennox Lewis no shame in them loses then went on to lose to the feather fisted Chris Byrd who is a good boxer.

He never really beat anyone world class.His best wins were against Johny Ruiz in 1 which was a good win, holds a win against Hasim Rahman and a draw.1 round ko against a old Micheal moorer and a good win over Fres oquendo which was a good win at the time carnt think of any1 else that he fought. There might be some others that i have missed but they are hardly the best names to have on your record as the best wins imo.

He was lucky to draw with Barret and Barret had him down in the 12th i think it was.

Yea I know Ike beat him but I had thought that Tua won a very close and competitive fight, what a great fight too. Sad for Tua, he definitely is one of those 'could have been' situations and the thought of Monte fucking Barret knocking him down is a bit sad.

You do have to throw in David Izon who was a good up and comer, Oleg Maskaev , undefeated Darroll Wilson. He fought who was in the top ten in that time period. The only people he really didn't fight was Holyfield,Bowe, and Tyson.

He didnt have his good socks on? He should have called off the fight.

Oh man it was a pretty good fight. I was goin crazy!!

All of a sudden Monty decideds he wants to trade with Tua... In the last minute of the last round and BINGO, he REALLY hurts Tua along with dumping him on his arse.

Monty gave a good account of himself in that, his last night.
