Default Next opponents for Cotto & Mayweather

So now that we know who that Pac and Mayweaher are not fighting i am very curious to see who Floyd chooses as his next opponent. I thought it was pretty clear that when May chose Mosley after Pacook Clottey that he was trying to set himself up to be on top at the negitiation table against Pacman. So who do you think would be the best and worse fight for May now that the Pacfight didnt happen?

Also because of other discussions on the forum im wondering who Cotto will go after now that he's at 154, I dont see him being able to compete in that weight class against the elit guys and going back down to face Berto seems to be out, so who else can he fight that would be a compelling fight to watch?

worst fight Mayweather can take is someone like Clottey or Khan, he should fight Williams, Berto, or Bradley

as for Cotto he should take on Dzinziruk (spelling) or someone on that level

For Cotto I don't know. For Floyd it's no one because of his uncle's legal troubles right now. More than likely for Floyd his next opponent is Pac but in '11 once the legal troubles for Roger clears up.

I think if Mayweather fights someone like Bradley or Berto he will have better numbers than the Pac fight, if he fights Williams he will def be on top at negotiation time.

For Cotto, if he did end up going against at top 154 I would say his best bet is Angulo although I do think he loses that fight unless he pull the same fight that he pulled against Margo but lasts all the way to the end. That Cotto fight really was a masterpiece on Cottos part but he has not looked the same after the fight for obvious reasons.

I would like to see Bradley VS Berto, that would be a bad ass fight.

it would be a good fight but down the line, i'd rather have Bradley clean up 140 than fight ANYONE at 147 (Pacquiao and Mayweather included)

Thats a good point, 140 is very very stacked. But Bradley has already had his first fight at 147 and called out Pac in an attempt to get into that mix. He is def going after bigger fish now.

Another fight that i think would be great for both fighters would actually be Cotto VS Mayweather. I think the styles are right for a great fight that would probably go either way unless the same Mayweather that fought Mosley shows up. If thats the case I see Mayweather take a dominating 12 round decision.

but Bradley also called out Khan, Maidana, and Alexander, IMO his fights at 140 are more exciting than anything at 147

I guess he goes on the list of interest on the next fight too.
