Thread: Why doesn't Dmitry Pirog have a fight scheduled?

It's like the guy has dropped off the face of the earth since his impressive TKO of Daniel Jacobs. Anyone know what's going on? The guy should be fighting as much as possible in order to further raise his profile.

I remember reading somewhere he is waiting for a mandatory, something about Pavlik fighting some no name for a shot at him.

Might be waiting for the right visibility. Any talk of rematch with Jacobs ? I can't see it going differently. Networks won't capitalize on his talent unless he has profile opponent....shite he didn't even get the interview.

i'm seriously anxious to see pirog fight again. thought he looked incredible when he ko'd daniel jacobs!

I actually was wondering the same thing just a week or two ago. He should fight someone, anyone just to up his profile, but who knows maybe they're having trouble getting a fight made. Yeah he owns a title but pretty much nobody's ever heard of him...as someone else said a rematch with jacobs would be the same because pirog just laughed at jacobs' shot where as jacob got ktfo out from pirog's.

He's got very good skills. I would love to see dude fight again.

I'd say that whoever set up the Pirog Jacobs fight in the first place, for Jacobs to lose was most definately not part of the plan at all. Was it Golden Boy? Pirog probably can't speak english, which won't help, and his team / promoter probably don't have much connnection in the way of making big fights. He was probably supposed to just be a stepping stone for Jacobs, who was seriously overated from the get go IMO. I decided that after he struggled with Michael Walker.

On the other side of it, Pirog was pretty awesome, so really, everyone who fancied a piece of him and his belt in the first place, probably now wants absolutely nothing to do with him. No network profile, no money. Lose lose fighting him.........

Jacobs would get smashed again in a rematch for sure.

It's mind boggling how some of these young guys strike gold when they upset/win a fight they werent suppose to win and then just disappear...

It is crazy this guy style is what most fans want to see, and I heard he got paid 50k for the Jacobs fight so he aint the sort of guy to price hiself out of fights.


Macklin v Pirog was on the cards a while back and Warren if had some balls would of made that fight for December 11th.
