Thread: Hennesey wins purse bid for Macklin v Barker.

Hennessy Sports are pleased to announce that earlier today in Rome they outbid both Frank Warren and Double "A" Promotions (Andy Ayling) to stage the highly anticipated all British European Title Super Fight between Darren Barker and Matthew Macklin.

Promoter Mick Hennessy said "I’m delighted to announce that Hennessy Sports have won the rights to stage this well talked about mega fight and as per EBU rules we will be announcing the date and venue for this contest within the next 2 weeks."


This fight is a mini version of Pac/Mayweather Wlad/Haye, this is what the third attempt at getting this fight on?

If Fat Mick had a brain ( not sure about that ) he should bang this on the Johnson/Froch undercard and give them both some state side exposure.

That is what I was thinking If Macklin has now got a contract with Warren I can see him giving the title up looking for a world title shot.

If the money is right I am sure Macklin will fight.

Can we have a poll on who pulls out this time around?

Looks like Macklin is also being offered the Winky fight according to Fat Dan.
