Thread: My idea for website to message people from your past...

I've thought of this really cool idea for a website...

Say you knew someone in your past and you want to get in touch with them but you can never find them or look them up or whatever on Facebook..

You go to this website which will be called something like www.message_for_someone.com and you can write a message... You then write the name of the person who it's for, and up to 10 keywords which relate to them... So say "John Little", then you write some keywords like say he worked and "Jingo's" and went to "Don Prick High School" and you know he had a "Blue Cadilac" and had "Red hair"....

So anyway, you leave messages like that...

And now, random people can go on there and search for their own name... So a bunch of people with that name will come up, and you go through the keywords and are like "oh, I worked there, I lived there, I was born in that place, I knew that person" and you can go in and get this message from the person......

I think it's a cool idea!! And if it really spread around it would be huge because surely a lot of people have people they've met in their past that they perhaps can't or don't want to get in contact with, but want to leave a message for them saying thanks for something or whatever....

It would be free, but on the flip side you could also charge like $1 to be able to get the e-mail address of anyone who left you a message so you can contact them back..

What do you all think?

Usually a reason you don't still have contact with people from your past??

Take my 5 year high school reunion. I went and realized why I didn't have any phone numbers of any of the people there, because they were lame asses back then. Only now they are fat balding lame asses. You can speak to them for 5 minutes and realize not a single original thought will ever come out of their head.

I don't think there is any market for it since facebook though Diz :/

I mean if you want to get in touch with someone you find them on there. If they arn't on there, that usually means they dont want to be found.

not a bad idea to be fair as it kinda would be combining friends reunited/facebook under one roof.

personally I would like to get in touch with a guy from uni I knew. Guess he either killed himself after me or lives unhappily married But still would like to know what happened to him.

I can be anyone you like online.

you'd be opening yourself up potentially for breaches of data protection if I knew the person and published their info online - it could a stalker. I think ancestry.com or whatever it's called has an option where they ask you to view their details before being able to communicate.

More or less what the hobbit said. The idea is good but Facebook fills it already, more or less. Admitting this website would get quite known, there is for sure some people that out of curiosity would go and give it an eye and perhaps find it interesting, perhaps there are some people who do not have facebook or use it very privately that would be also interested in the idea but all in all, I think that social networking websites like facebook and in a lesser degree, myspace already answer to that need mostly.

Cyber stalking has a much higher value than $1 IMO.

Go for it mate don't listen to the negatives... fuck me imagine when the guy had the idea for Twitter.

I have an idea... people can talk to each other but use no more than 140 letters.

they would have all said... WTF aint you heard of forums numbnuts they do all that and more.

I am going to invent a site that combines MySpace, Twitter and Facebook
