    Default Random Inquiry

This is a trifle of a thread but I was just curious....

Does anyone else on here ever become bummed out??

Not to get some pity party going but:

Every night I go to bed I hope that I won't wake up the next day. But hell, I end up waking up so I try to make it as productive of a day as I can. My days are always better the busier I stay.

    Any thoughts?

My heart and mind beat the living shit out of one another lately. when I used to get depressed it would turn to anger...seemed to help it pass, or at least give it direction. Course it also eats your soul and makes you a prick

pertaining to bed I've actually gone to bed not thinking I would wake, be it health or a kick ass hurricane coming. curious as to how/who would 'find' you in AM...clean up the house etc. I know, fucked up

Of course and I think the vast majority of people probably do.

Feeling bummed out as you put it is just one of those cycles we go through. Right now I am feeling pretty great about a lot of things, but will it last? Nah, something will bring me down and it will likely just be a switch adjusting in my mind. I have this propensity to be immensely satisfied, but alternately I can sink into the darkest of places. It's not easy keeping a balance. I probably abused my mind too much when I was younger.

Everyone feels bad sometimes, but if you're going to bed every night hoping you will die in your sleep then I would suggest that you seek some help. How long has it been going on?

Ive often thought if someone pulled a gun on me I'd be thinking on one level, thank God you are here. On another level there's still alot of fun to have. Depression to me is a bit like swimming with your head above water, you can allow yourself to slip under, then its harder to get back up on the surface; or you can just choose to keep kicking.
Kicking for some others in need would help you out Booze.

You gotta have a reason for being bummed, maybe some changes in your normal routine will get you out of the rut. Whats getting you down?

    Hey bro,

I know what you're talking about getting bummed out, like others have mentioned it goes in cycles for me. Some weeks I'm just hating myself for accepting the mindless drudgery of going to work and doing fairly repetitive things time after time, and occasionally getting tirades of abuse.

Other weeks, I can look at the plus sides of plentiful overtime, good bonuses and not having to dress formally, and I think it's not so bad at all. I usually find the worst times have been the 6 months after I returned from travelling in New Zealand, and after I came back from trekking in the Himalayas. I just found it really hard to return to the mundane, and didn't cope with either one that well, but then there's looking forward to the next adventure, and that's the light at the end of the tunnel.

    Don't stop kicking.

    Perhaps you are bi-winning?

I usually keep myself bu$y - put myself in very productive mood, or jam with my friends in garage band when I'm in shit storm.

If it's a financial problem. Then I would try borrowing money from my close friends and relatives.

Marital problem? Hmm..mm I don't know. Depends how bad. Most men are shit out of luck in that issue.

Is this a mid life crisis thread?

I thought about suicide a few times but 3 things refrained me:

    1) the fact that once dead, I won't feel that "release" that I was seeking, that the very last sensation I felt would be despair and sadness, which means... no release at all as I can't see the deliverance neither feel it because I am dead with no sensations and because in the very last fraction of my life, I'll go with the utterly unpleasant feeling that drove me through despair.

    2) A sense of responsibility toward those who love/like me and that would be deeply hurt if I would commit suicide, that we want it or not, we are born with some kind of moral responsibility to those around us and some of these people are way too beautiful and kind to be hurt/shattered/destroyed in such way.

    3) I know that these moments will pass and that once passed, I will think "yeah, that was a stupid idea otherwise you would not have experienced the present moment and how gooodd is it".

I feel you but the next nice moment you'll live will be worth the wait, trust me.

I used to get the odd bout of depression, in fact, about 5 years ago I was in a pretty bad place. I think like Andre said, you just got to keep kicking man. I've felt pretty content the last year or so tho. U got to be strong for those around you as well. And remember every life is valueble. Always value urself. I think the things we go thru in life is all just to evolve ourselfs to become better and wiser human beings. I hope all is well anyway booze. U just got to suck it up and soldier on dude and I'm sure everthing will be ok.

No life is far too short and time is going so quickly that I wish I was immortal.

Yeah this life is very short when we measure it.

You are immortal though, you just cant view it from this suppressed material portal of ours;specially with a measuring device form here .

You are right in that the quickening is upon us as well.

Japan New Zealands events bring it home to us all the more .

The feeling of no control over the whole. But our transitions from the material always seem slow and sometimes cruel or harsh from our lowest point, but from the higher realms they are as fast as possible. Our month is less than one of realities seconds.

This is Eternity, you are in it. We're just choosing to view it for the material experiences we can use from one of its lowest points is all.

You could call us the sub mariners of this Universe you wouldn't be far wrong.
