Default I love gadgety stuff like this, but I have no idea how it works!

    Check this out:

In a nutshell, control anything electric with your iPhone. TV, lights, sound system. That's about it actually, but still. I think it's something I need in my life.

So how the fuck does it work? What exactly do I need to make it work in my house and how much will it cost me?

I get the iPhone to PC bit, but it's the PC to lights bit that confuses me??

It's a weird world we live in nowadays.

In the past we used technology and innovation to invent and create products and machines that improved over our current methods.

It was basically problem solving to improve efficiency.

Now the rate of technology has accelerated so radically that it is actually well ahead of any problems we may encounter and so now people are inventing solutions before we have even ecountered the problem.

So it seems to be with this utterly useless invention.

Up until now, I and the rest of the modern world have managed to get by using the on/off switches provided as standard to operate any lights we may have. The light switches have traditionally been placed next to the door thereby enabling easy flicking of the switch on and off as we enter.

I would argue that it is in fact easier to reach your hand out and turn on the light manually than it is to dig into your pocket, grab your phone, open the light switch application, press the appropriate button that will instruct the pc to turn on the switch, then put your phone back in your pocket.

It seems in fact, that rather retardedly we are now inventing slower ways to do things because we love to play with our mobile phones.

I am no different really. I just upgraded my phone to a lovely new HD Desire HD. It's a spanking piece of kit, and now I am really searching hard for ways to make use of it.

I have a phone,a kindle, a pda, laptop, pc etc already and this phone does nothing better than any of them yet I have spent hours since owning it downloading cool apps to give this phone a purpose.

After spending week thoroughly researching how I can use this to improve my life I have so far got it to serve two purposes. A nice virtual fish tank when I switch on, and a pretty addictive game called Tweeter where you have to tilt a marble into a hole..
