Default Maidana - Morales Fight Thread

Just curious who all is picking Morales to pull of a major upset tonight ?
I think he has a chance. Because Maidana does not really know how to box properly and has terrible footwork. Great heart and power tho, and is awkardly clever in there.

If it was a young Morales who hadn't suffered the crushing defeats then maybe i'd give him a chance against the much bigger man naturally, because Maidana isn't the greatest boxer and can be outboxed. But he is totally shot and for that reason I only see an early KO for Maidana.

If he can outbox him maybe, put 12 rounds is a long time to stay on the run and Maidana will catch him at somepoint.

I'm still going for Maidana KO

Yeah could b an early ko but I don't think the above replies hold water, if morales loses it just means he jumped to high in weight. It isn't hard to get away from maidana,
I'm picking morales purely becos he has better experience, knowledge, and has beaten pacman and has had harder fights in his trilogies plus a huge break with retirement and isn't old in slightest.

I agree with both of you. At best I see this fight playing out like the 2nd Pacquaio fight, with Morales outboxing Maidana for a while, then getting caught down the stretch.

At worst it will be a blowout like the 3rd Pacqauio fight.

Either way, I'll be rooting for Morales. He's a brave crazy son of a bitch to challenge Maidana.

This summed it up for me.

Erik will outbox Maidana for spells in the fight. His success will come early but as he slows he will start getting tagged then it wont be long til he folds. At worst he goes out swinging in a shootout but if that happens I'll be disappointed because it will show that he just wanted to get it over with early and pick up his cheque.

I'm sticking to my guns that Maidana is overhyped, I'm picking Morales in the upset. Otley stay the eff away from picking Morales.

Maidana is definitely over-hyped. He's a one-dimensional brawler with good power, but he's hardly Godzilla. That being said, Morales is shot to bits. I hope he can surprise me, but I think El Terrible is getting stopped. He doesn't have the legs or the defense to keep away from Maidana's power.

Morales is nuts for taking on this, but at the same time you have to respect him. We have old legends like Barrera and Toney doing next to nothing and still continuing their careers and here is Morales having a proper good old swing at it. You can't knock a man for that, but it might not end prettily.

I like both guys and just want a decent scrap. I will get no pleasure in seeing Morales being massacred though, so hope he can give a decent account.

Morales has about as much chance of beating Maidana as Katsidis has of beating Guerro.

    Both fights are mismatches imo.

Maidana and Guerroro both win easy one sided fights.

Katsidis has a REAL SHOT of beating Guerrero.

    Guerrero runs hot and cold.

Lately he's looked tremendous, but Katsidis had already done a number on Vincente Escobedo himself.

    You can't count Katsidis out.

Can anyone tell me how Campbell looked? I know he lost, but did he look totally shot?
