    Default Hadron Collider

First off I want to say that it is an incredible human achievement to create such a complex machine. Anyway, I heard on the grapevine that there could be an announcement comin very soon on the research that's been done at CERN. The announcement could be all to do with the so called god particle that's eluded scientists and pysicists for all these years. It could be a giant leap forward for mankind as we no it. Very exciting times indeed. Stay tuned folks.

My confident bet is that they haven't found it. But they will have found something completely irrelevent and then hype it up into being something significant, to keep the budget flowing. Then that will be discarded before the next budget and replaced with something else. An exciting new find.

And why is whenever anything is discovered in space, in paleontology, in physics etc, the media always goes with the words '... that gives us new insights into how we evolved'..

    No, they don't.

Yeah there's been a lot of articles and documentaries that have brushed on CERN lately.
For every story told that divides us, I believe there are a thousand untold that unite us.

Lol. U no what Bilbo, u do make a good point. I never thought of it that way. However I'm hoping that this is a legitimate rumour. I'm guessing well soon no for sure. I have a feelin that deep down u would like to be wrong on this one.

My take on it all? The collider or what they're looking for, or just something that will get a condescending response from Bilbo?

haha how can I be condescending to anyone? I'm the maverick who thinks outside the box, the rest of you condescend me.

To find the Higgs Bosom (the famous ONE particle) is a long shot but it is possible, Stephen Hawking himself did bet that they wouldn't find it. Personally, I think that it is just a matter of time before that mystery is solved, might take a couple more years though. Even if the Collider wouldn't discover the Higgs Bosom, it wouldn't mean that it failed in his quest as there were many objectives, including calculating a few things and collecting informations and models about when 2 atoms collide, the Higgs Bosom would be of course the Holy Grail of their quest but it is not a necessary objective to achieve to declare the mission successful.

Once again you are confused. It's Higgs Boson, not bosom. A bosom is a woman's breasts, a tit in fact, which is what you always become when you attempt to speak knowledgeably about matters of science.

Just because I make a spelling mistake (sorry I wasn't sure how to write it in english, which is not my primary language and hardly my second by these days)doesn't mean I am not knowledgeable in science (like you who thinks that we can create nothing from nothing and who refutes the idea that bacteries can change and evolve with electricity).

    Nice try but nice fail.

A unicellular organism without a core(Procaryot, opposite to Eucaryot who aren't necessary unicellular and who possesses a core) Didn't have time to look if Procaryot and Eucaryot are written that way in English.

Didn't they try to create a black hole? Which if successful would have grown indefinitely sucking up the planet at the same time?

Even if they do find the boob or what ever you call it, it still doesn't give the answer of who created the boob or what created that and so on.

No offense but that isnt thinking outside the box, that is being told what to say and believe.
