I was going to order my first pair of boxing shoes and was curious as to how they are sized? Should I go for a size bigger (double socks/wrapped ankle) or just get my normal size?
Thanks

It really depends on the make. I've had Nike Machomais, which fit kind of narrow and a bit smaller, so bought them 1 size bigger and they were perfect. My last shoe were Rivals, and I got those the same as my reg. shoe size, and again, they were perfect. it all depends on the make, how your feet are built, wide, thin, etc...and how you want them, tight, loose...
other things to consider, are the type of fighter you are. are you extremely mobile...yes? then u want a shorter cut. Do yo tend to plant yourself and be a plodder? then a higher cut might be better. it's a trade off of ankle support vs shoe weight for mobility.
I wouldn't consider dbl socks tho. Your feet need to breath. This will just cause your body to overheat more easily.

Yup as YB said, usually depends on the make.
I would suggest either trying to find them somewhere local.. trying them on, and then ordering online.. Or call the company that you're ordering from and ask them how they fit. They usually have a decent idea of that.
I own a pair of Asics and I ordered a half size bigger (US Size) than my regular shoe size and it fits perfectly.
Good Luck
I was looking at buying the new ones that DeMarcus Corley designed (ones Mosley wore for Pacquiao fight).

Double socks idea is one that came from certain fighters who don't put any tape on their ankles, probably not going to do that, but wanted to make sure that in case I did, it would be factored in. Thanks for your reply.
Not sure what to tell you, as not familiar with the shoe. Also not sure how to interpret the response, other then is sounds kinda vague, or suggesting the same as a standard shoe maybe?
I would personally just consider it to be of the norm fitting, as per regular shoe size, and factor in your own foot. I have wide feet so tend to always go 1 size bigger, unless they are made for that.
