Default Sometimes I just feel overwhelmed by boxing history.

Which is a good thing considering it's future

But seriously, there are so many fighters who are worth looking into, who are just names to me and as much as I try and make time for 1 fighter, another 6 appear who need to be put into context!

I mean, it's a wonderful problem to have but I think just at this moment, there's a few people I'm looking at and well, I kinda wished I knew more than I do, without having to put in the work...

    Meh, such is life...

i agree. if we just go back 40 yrs we can delve into guys like Jimmy Ellis, George Chuvalo, Ron Lyle, the Quarries, just stickin to heavies there I mean. Guys like those who back then hardly made it to the top but always threatened---they would be top contenders these days.

But it's a blast learning about and watching a guy you know little about isn't it? It's never as dramatic as seeing a guy grow up in front of your eyes, but it's a lot better than nothing.

I still remember the first time I really sat down and watched footage of Ike Williams when I was 21 or so. One of those HOLY CRAP moments.

Yeah I had one of those when I saw Jose Napoles get beat up by Monzon. Fortunately, such were the skills of Napoles I was fortunate to see past an undersized man getting beat on mercilessly
