Toney vs Shamrock will fight this year in a mixed stipulations MMA bout- meaning that rules will vary each round.

Seriously toney is making himself into a joke, and hasn't really been relevant in five years. As stupid as I find holyfield for fighting way past the expiration date at least he's sticking to the craft he knows and isn't turning himself into a fool...no desire to watch this and probably won't.

Lol Ken Shamrock? And under mixed rules, what on earth is that supposed to mean? If they make any portion of the fight stand up then Toney will finally knock somebody out, if Shamrock is allowed to take him down he'll probably do that easily and tap him out. Just a really stupid fight that would be over in the first round either way.

Toney was interviewed by Elie Sechback and said the fight will be 8 rounds, 3 minutes each and mixed rules. What I gathered from the interview is takedowns will be allowed, not sure of ground fighting, knees, elbows, kicks are allowed.

Well, I have finally given up on the man. Why doesn't he just want to box? It's what he does well. It would be like me suddenly deciding I want to be in a sales management team. What would make me think I know how to do that? I don't. Just stick to boxing or give up.

Let the man roll around on the floor getting choked out, without even throwing one punch. Let the man get taken down on the first shoot and never get off the mat after that. Thats entertaining.

Yeah, I can't wait. The first time was so enthralling. I just have to see an obese middle aged man get groped and then choked on the floor. I bet Toney was having a right old fun time.

The thing that bugs me is that his comeback was a load of horseshit. He came in fatter than ever and then promptly vanished again. And he is now coming back with this nonsense? It is a farce and I don't say that as a man that enjoys criticising Toney. He has been one of my favourites for many years, but I have clearly lost my patience.

you guys are acting like he owes you something. he's clearly not living his life for your approval. if you don't like it don't watch...but you sound like brats complaining about how a fat man wants to live his life. let him be fat and jolly and choked out.

I've found out that there is a lot of unknown even from Toney about this fight. He has never even seen Ken Shamrock, doesn't even know what he looks like. Two different dates along with two different distributors. I just read from an interview with Toney that the fight will allow takedowns and grappling, but for no more than 30 seconds at a time...at which point the fight will be stood up again. Take it for what it's worth.

So why not just find an opponent and then box? I just don't understand this MMA/fusion stuff. The last opponent was supposed to be a tune up for something better and all he has done is revert back to the stuff that made everyone laugh at him. As a fan of Toney, if he is to do anything, I want to see him box. I don't think I am being particularly demanding. Doesn't any fan just want to see their fighter do what he does best?
