Thread: What is special about Bradley?

Special? Nothing.

But I'd answer that way about all but maybe 6-7 fighters active today. So it isn't an insult.

He is undefeated and considered as a division king, there must be something special working for him?

NOBODY is king at 140.

No, there doesn't need to be anything special. It speaks to the level of overall competition. He doesn't need to be "special" to win today, just better than good.

What allows Bradley to win? His determination, fitness and mental tenacity are as important as anything else. But are any of those three as impressive as a prime Evander Holyfield or Salvador Sanchez or Joe Frazier who proved those traits against HOF quality guys? In my view THAT is what is takes to be "special."

The best answer is probably "Not yet."

People are quick to hate Bradley now because of how negotiations went with Khan awhile back.

Bradley is a gifted well rounded fighter.

He doesn't do anything special in the ring but everything he can do in the ring, he does well.

He can fight coming at you, on the backfoot, off the ropes, on the inside, etc. He has fast hands, can put combinations together, good jab, works the body well, good head movement and footwork, has underated power in his right hand. He has alot of toughness, good chin and heart also. Once he's in the ring, he's one of the most determined fighters out there today imo.

He continues to prove some fans wrong. He wasn't supposed to beat Witter or Alexander yet he not only done it but done it convincingly. It appears the same will happen with Khan. Bradley will probably prove those critics wrong also.

People are shitting on him now while he is down but once he sorts out the mess with Shaw and gets a new promotor, i'm sure we will see him and Khan fight.

He has a quality that sets him apart from them, but also he may be lesser in others. He doesn't hit like any of them, and some of them took a shot better, but he has more speed than any of them, and he's far harder to hit.

You ask about any specific thing that makes Bradley special? There are a few like heart, work ethic, and stamina. They may not catch your eye like athleticism, power, and speed but they are there. He also has more than enough talent in the tangible categoris that he can compete in those departments with anyone when you encorporate his other abilities.

What hasn't made him special yet is the competition, we know he has the quality, except in his technical lapses, but we still need to see how he matches up against the best in the world. I am not so sure he can deal with Khan's mobility and combinations anymore. I don't think he would be stopped or dominated, but I am not sure he could get enough going offensively.

He's just a very well-rounded fighter with excellent conditioning and a ton of heart and determination.

I have a lot of respect for Bradley, I just don't think he has a chance against Khan.

Bradley is a very good all rounder , he doesnt nothing top draw he is just solid.

I think Bradley was really on a good roll beating southpaws, punchers, body punchers, slick boxers. You name it he beat them and adjusted when he had too. He was the top dog at 140lb but since these contract and managerial negotiations he has stalled and been unfairly stripped. Hope he gets back in the ring soon and build the momentum again.

I like Bradley as a champion but I really don't think he deserves a fight with manny or floyd. He has a lot to sort out at 140 and there is no way him or khan deserves a big 147 fight IMO. Both need to sort out who's the man at 140 and then move up. Khan still has youth on his side and Bradley is 27 but that still means he has at least 2-3 big fights at 140 IMO. Let manny and floyd fight, the boxing world needs that fight more than either manny or floyd beating khan and Bradley. Both need to fight each other and we can see who the 140 king is and then let them move up to 147.

Yeah those headbutts are pretty effective

It is clearly animal magnetism and sex appeal. Bradley's a decent all round fighter, always prepared to dig in and grit it out.
