Just curious how everyone feels about Obama and/or the job he's doing as the American President. Views from those of you living in other countries would be appreciated as well, i'd like to hear how he's perceived by Saddo's members living in other nations.

Personally I have mixed feelings about Obama and the job he's doing, and really hope he gets voted out of office in 2012.

He reminds me of Jimmy Carter in some ways.

Well, most Americans seem to feel Carter was a horrible President, but under different circumstances I think he would have been fantastic (but remember that I'm a godless communist ).

He reminds me of Carter in that he's a very liberal President (something of a rarity in a right-center country like the States) who tried to enact some extremely progressive things but who inherited a terrible economy that he couldn't recover from. They differ in a lot of ways too of course - Obama seems to try to tell Americans who he thinks they want to hear, while Carter flat out told them they needed to change their way of life (and was subsequently crushed by Reagan) - but I think they will both be viewed (rightly or wrongly, and IMO it's wrongly) as one-term failures and, more interesting to me, aberrations in a political system that tends to lean to the right more often that it does the left.

Obama is a horrible, horrible President and a coward of a human being. Not one single person has been prosectuted for the financial meltdown and he brushes the war in Iraq under the carpet thus excusing war criminals. He has bailed out Wall Street and is now in the process of transfering the massive fallout upon the middle class and poor in the name of austerity. He has extended the period duing which the rich pay less than their own fair share of the tax burden and he failed to introduce a basic healthcare free at the point of use which IMO is a basic human right. He expanded the war in Afghanistan, he refuses to close Guantanamo.

In a nutshell I think Obama is a complete cunt.

Exactly, Doesnt matter who ya put in charge of the country they will still fuck it up, piss people off and make a mockery of all the pre-election promises.

Totally, a mouthpiece of the elite and the financial sector. An absolute sell out when it comes to representing the man on the street.

I have no interest in politics as in England the majority of politicians are upper class arseholes bang out of touch with the common man. Look at the expenses scandal on top of their ridiculously high wages and benefits and tell me they aren't all selfish greedy bastards lining their own pockets while the country goes down the shitter. I have never voted and i never will, whoever is in power it's all money, money, money it's a reason i will be leaving the army in 12 months as i refuse to risk my life for a government who continually lie and shit all over the true hard workers of the nation, the people who graft long hours day in day out just to provide a stable life for their family while not being able to afford certain luxuries that many underserving have become accustomed to.

To be honest i don't see Obama being crucified in the media over here but that might be because i am reading the wrong papers or i'm completely blind to it.
