    Default Fifa 12 - defending....

Is a nightmare and my players part like the red sea

Anyway I trawled youtube looking for tips on it and found this guy moaning about it too. Listen to how irritated he is - fucking hilarious !

I own a very popular facebook page, about Fifa PAGE LINK!! We have discussed this in great detail!

It's basically common sense! If your 3 seconds more patient with a tackle than Fifa 11, you'll win almost every challenge, or at least I do!

Tackling also isn't something I do until they're in my 3rd of the pitch, in which case they get outnumbered!

Yes, the defending in FIFA 12 is very difficult... I like it though, it makes the gameplay more realistic.

Change the buttons so they are in a much more similar place to FIFA 11. The tackle button being where it defaults to is too awkward.

    Oh dear

FIFA is way to glitchy to even get into a debate about.

Have ya tried the new PES ?

This year is the first year ever that I've not bought the game. I was the biggest fanboy going.

Played the demo and it felt poor. I didn't really like last years PES either, Konami have fleeced me for enough over the years, not any more.

I feel like the current FIFA games play like the Pro Evo game I always wanted. Conversely, the latest PES games seem to play like everything I hated about the old FIFA's.

Have you played both and do you genuinely think this years PES is better? Are you biased to PES like I used to be, or do you actually think it is better?

Yea I genuinely think it's a better gameplay than FIFA.

It's the dynamics of the game which i prefer, and this years PES is much more fluid than last years, I would agree last years PES was a step behind the year before, but this year they have created a more fluid and responsive passing system, the defending is also different with the jockying of the players being the biggest assest when defending.
The passing has improved as ya can turn off assisted passing which means where ya point the stick/pad, thats where the ball goes rather than to the nearest man, which helps greatly when playing the ball into space, or through balls.

The demo came out in 2 stages this year, the 1st release was only 60% complete, so dont read to much into that honestly, the full game is much more improved mate

I honestly think on FIFA it seems pre-programmed as to where and how the ball will travel, also player individuality seems non-existent, eg John Terry or Robert Huth will have the same 1st touch as a Lionel Messi, now thats not realistic.

Each to their own I guess, but for me PES is the one I play

I played FIFA till 97 then switched to PES - or ISS as it was called then.

Switched back to FIFA in 2010 as it finally caught PES up - I was also sick of the lack of licence and stupid team names etc. FIFA also had championship sides so I could finally play with Ipswich.

FIFA is tough though. Really frustrating when you can't get any space or make a chance and your player does a shit shot - maybe its time I stopped using Ipswich online !

Thats the one thing that pisses me off with Konami, the licencing of players names, but ya can get patches online for these things tho, so it's not to bad.
Playing with the Tractor Boy's tho, I guess thats where the problem is mate

I tell you what, if you think it is that good, I'll rent it this weekend and give it a chance.

I'd love for it to be better I really would, I'm still PES deep down. I couldn't really give ashit about the real player names and the kits, it's a nice touch, but the actual game is far more important. Although it is good fun to get thrashed when playing as my beloved Plymouth Argyle!

All the things you said about FIFA (scripted, feels like its on tracks, all goals look the same) was what I hated about PES last year, it felt like they had taken the bits I'd always hated about FIFA and made that integral to the gameplay. The animations were screwed last year too, all players ran like they were in the paralympics!

This years FIFA is the best football game I've ever played I think, a few glitches, but nothing that has affected me too bad.

I'll let you know how I get on with PES, I was going to get Gears of war 3 this weekend, so PES best be good!

Ha, good man, GoW3 pales into significance against PES.

Try changing the assisted passing option, It starts on pass assist3, try knocking it down to 0 and see how ya fair. Ya will remember when playing long balls, it decided where it was going before ya kicked it, not on this mode, far more realistic, i promise.
