Mannn I like Cruz but i knew he didnt have the experience to beat Burgos.. Bad matchmaking from TR..
So what do you guys think of him and how does he fare against the top dogs at 130?

I was impressed but remain reserved about him because at the same time Cruz was very lineal; so if Burgos hadn't of shone against him something would be very wrong.
Yeah good won for Burgos, I was high on Cruz but he had no answers. Once he got hit his game plan all but went out the window. Hands to low, needed to put his punches together

Andre/Galaxy, so how do you think Burgos fares against the likes of Argenis Mendez, salgado, Uchiyama, Broner and Eloy perez??
I like his style alot.. He fought Hasegawa in Japan last year when he was still fairly green and that bout really opened my eyes. He may not be a flashy cutie or anything like that but the guy is versatile and he gets the job done..
My initial pick was Cruz actually but after reviewing his last three fights, it was so obvious that he wasnt ready for this.. ONe of his biggest flaws is that he fights with his hands low which is a big no no against the well schooled technician like Burgos..
He looked good against a limited Cruz, but he seemed to have some stamina issues and his wide punching and habit of throwing them from far away will get him into a lot of trouble against better fighters. He's young though, so he has time to improve.
I thought Burgos put up a good performance, good movement, fluid combinations, and good counterpunching, Cruz looked a bit like a deer caught in the headlights and seemed really stiff throwing only one punch at a time, unlike previous performances, he has a brilliant jab and when he used it he kept the fight going at the pace that he preferred, wouldn't mind a rematch between the two because although i had Burgos the winner it was a relatively close fight, maybe if both continue to do well they can meet up again down the road, Cruz needs to work on his movement and defense though, cause if it would have been against a bigger puncher he would have been badly hurt by a left hook when he would move straight back, overall two good fighters to look forward to in the future
