Juan Manuel Marquez to fight Cesar Rene Cuenca April 14 in Mexico City - ESPN

He is fighting Cesar Rene Cuenca (42-0, 1 KO) like some had previusly said would happen. Fighting in Mexico city and wanting to fight right after in a few months in July 14 against Mercito Gesta (24-0-1, 12 KOs). He is staying very active but is this good for a guy that's still fighting at 38?I think its good to see a top guy fighting more then 2 times a year like most of them do. He wants Manny in November again.

This fight for JMM is only to stay active and to beat a good record. With all the nonsense going in with Gamboa, someone should pay this dude off and us fans should get JMM vs Rois.

Maybe JMM is fighting fighters with padded records to get away with this, which is no criticism as he wants to be ready for Manny in November as someone said.

at 38, he's planning on retiring in 2012... better to stay active rather than laying about.

besides, he can't wait around for pac. that dude may be in jail by mid summer. haha

If marquez breezes through both cuenca and gesta (which I'm betting he will), and if pac pbf fight can't get made, then I'd love for both manny and juan to have another go at it. I know there's a good chance it would conclude in another controversial ending, but I'm still hoping for a decisive win for either fighter just to end the rivalry. Doesn't matter who wins. Just have someone win in a clear and convincing fashion to have a much needed closure.
