    Default Sore thumb and wrist!

New here and need some(lots) advice.
I watched vids on how to wrap your hands.
But when I wrap around my thumb I can't close my fist tight.
If I keep the wrap loose enough to make a solid fist then the wrap isn't doing anything!
Also when I wrap around the thumb I get pain aroind my thumb joint and wrist when punching.
So does it really matter if you wrap around the thumb?

To my understanding the wrap is designed to secure the wrist/thumb in place so if you land incorrectly the wrap will protect you hand/wrist/thumb from moving in the wrong direction. Your thumb should be secured at all times and the glove shouldn't allow you to make a complete fist anyways. Security inside the glove is your focus. You'll get used to it.

You might not be landing the punch right. It could be landing on the wrong knuckle and might be going down the wrist wrong.

    That's just an idea.

    I think you are right.
After turning my fist right at impact to "dig ' my knuckles in I can now punch without the pain.
