Thread: Ruslan Chagaev leaves Universum Box-Promotion

Former WBA heavyweight champion and world amateur super-heavyweight champion Ruslan Chagaev has parted with promotional company Universum Box-Promotion.

"I need to move forward, but Universum now may not regularly make me fights. When it changed direction, I had hopes that the situation will change quickly, but without a contract with the German TV company is not easy."

I wonder will Denis Boytsov and Rakhim Chakhkiev be leaving as well? It's a shame if a talented, exciting up-and-comer like Chakhkiev has to remain inactive.

I've read Universum is planning to stage a big card in Moscow sometime in late August. Boytsov & Chakhkiev will headline...and a rumored Gutknecht-Brahmer EBU title fight.

I hope guteknecht is better than the one time I saw him cause he looked crap, and what the hell is brahmer still doing fighting?

Chagaev will fight on the Sturm-Geale undercard. I'm not sure if Ruslan signed a contract with Sturm promotions but I do know Felix signed a 10 fight tv deal beginning with the Lorenzo defense in 2010.

Now Universum is saying Ruslan owes them one last fight. They're planning on putting him on that big Moscow card I mentioned.
