i think any version of AA could have been outboxed by a quick fighter so the best of bute has a chance

however AA has a reputation of coming on strong and hitting very hard and bute's punch resistance looks questionable

Id have liked to have seen this fight, in fact i still would

Its a good fight to be made I reckon, Bute would have to box him for 12 rounds but you could see Abraham coming on late and maybe causing an upset? I dont think Bute could stop Abraham which would make it interesting. I think Bute' chin fighting against decent fighters will be tested. Froch has shown any fighter who fights Bute that they just need to go inside and have a good go, if you show Bute respect and let him do what he does best then you would lose rounds against him. But if you go in there and try to hurt him, you can be successful. Thats why I reckon Abraham could have a chance as long as he doesnt respect Bute and really does try and rough him up, like Froch did.

I reckon Abraham would bust bute up, trouble is like most fighters that open up bute just hits them with an uppercut and it's over.
I think there was a moment where bute uppercut froch hard in the chest/stomach flush and froch grinned and put his hands down wanting another but harder

Yeah Bute has the tools hes a talented fighter, but I really do believe Froch has shown any fighter that they can hurt Bute and put him down. For Bute he is going to have to adjust if he wants to succeed at the top, hes like Amir Khan, has bags of talent but at the highest level he can get caught, and if he dont have a chin you might be a good fighter, but you will never be an elite fighter.

I don't think butes chin is bad and is good enough to be an elite fighter I mean its not like froch landed one and bute was gone, he ate some solid punches over five rounds. He needs to adjust his style tho to not take so many, and to adjust when someone is just walking thru his like froch did...

You could tell he was really hurting though when he was taking the punches , he really did slow down and by the 5th round he was taking far too much leather. You can say the same for Khan though, because he did get back up and fought on after that big left hook. But as soon as a big punch landed like the Bute-Froch fight, it was pretty clear who the victor was going to be in both fights.

Agreed and both have a ton of heart especially khand, and I hope they adjust and come back strong, but I do think khans chin is more shakey.

That pretty much nail is. Froch deserves full credit for the win but Bute really lost the plot. He even looked weird for the ring walk and completely overwhelmed by the moment and the boxing crazy Brits. That is his biggest problem imo and if he hopes to regain lost glory then its imperative that he learns to cope with fighting outside Quebec. No way did they train to fight Carl in a phone booth. Froch owns that land and yet that's exactly what he did. I just hope he learned something from it like a true champion should.

Bute beats Abraham then and now.

Froch is about the only person who would have fought Bute the way he did. Bute had a reputation as a strong body puncher with that left hook and most others would have fought him cautiously, especially Abraham who just walked around with a high guard.

Bute fought Bika with no dramas, even Ward had a tough time with Bika and had to hold on for dear life in the last two rounds and Calzaghe said Bika was the hardest puncher he had faced.

Abraham was always going to struggle with the super middles. He was a bit like Hatton in that he was able to boil himself down to a weight where he was just too strong for everyone, not outboxing or doing anything particularly special but move up a weight and that advantage isnt there any more and he even got dropped by Dirrell!

I reckon Bute would have stopped him with a body shot.

Bute has the ability to win the rematch but by not standing in front of Froch. Whether he has the heart to now is another matter.

But bute did his best to keep away from froch, even if he wanted to get off the ropes he wouldn't be able to.
Bute is and IMO has always been slower than froch. Froch is a very dangerous 168er and prob twice as dangerous as Adonis, bika etc. he is far too durable and has it of endurance, ward was very sly and IMO was crapping it in the last 3 rounds when froch was sprinting after him
