Have always loved this one with a fresh Mercer getting all he can handle early in career from a top notch and determined force in Bert Cooper. Great action in a missed era of heavyweight boxing.

Good one Spicoli, BTW, Cooper was Joe Frazier's cousin.

This was a damn good fight ! Cooper was an animal and came within inches of the heavyweight championship.

This one wasn't quite as good as Moorer vs. Cooper, but I consider that the best HW fight of all time.

Mercer was an Olympic gold medalist and more talented and had a better chin than Cooper, but it was an even match for a while.

Mercer's face was swollen, he had a great chin. That was a tough battle.
