Default Burns v Walsh 15th December

Should be pretty straight forward 1 for burns.still think it's a not bad match up even though its typical warren keeping everthing in house but would rather c this than against some random African.Ricky deserves an easier fight before hopfully a unification with demarco or broner.any ov u guys give Walsh a chance?

I think Ricky Burns batters the krap out of Louis Walsh and finally gives him a dose of his own medicine for inflicting the likes of Ronan Keating,Johhny Logan and Jedward on an unsuspecting public.

    Absolutely ridiculous.

A 13 fight novice that went life and death with Paul Appleby. He's never fought for the European title let alone met anyone remotely close to world level.

I'm well and truly with Fenster on this one. Come one now. This is absurd. I'm all for Burns having an easy shot but really? Someone who's had 13 fights and isn't even ranked inside the top 50 in the (59). This shit just seriously devalues the fact that Burns is a genuine WORLD title holder. It may as well just be a crack at a Lonsdale belt.

Yeah it's a British title fight masquerading as a world one. It's utterly pointless apart from putting a few quid in Burns pocket.

Can't even hope Burns loses to fuck up their plans - Warren would love to do in-house trilogies.

Oh lighten up it's just a ticking over fight till broner! The broner fight looks a cert now. Burn's has the tool's to beat anyone in the top 10 at the minute. He really has come into his own.

Can't wait for the broner unification.

This is Walsh view about the fight a couple of weeks ago.

Liam Walsh Insists he's "unworthy" of a shot at Ricky Burns

"I've only had one fight at lightweight and that was against an Italian bin man so to say I'm going to fight Burns is laughable! I'd be unworthy of a shot."

    That says it all.

Keeps Burns busy but I bet he will look awful doing it.

You might like Walsh, but Frank Warren sure as hell doesn't! Walsh will not be undefeated after this fight, unless it's fixed.
A close decision either way would insure a rematch, maybe two somewhere down the road.
Maybe Walsh is getting a nice payday and future considerations for saying bye bye to his zero. Boxer's purses are secret in the UK.
Conspiracy theroies are like mother's milk in the USA, but something really does stink about this Warren decision. What do you think? What am I missing?

I agree with those who say this fight doesn't make much sense, but y'know what, heavily-unfancied outsiders getting a shot, there's a certain romance to that (sometimes, not when it's just bums getting knocked out).

Walsh isn't a bum, he's just been given a shot above his level. I don't find it that much sillier than some of the fights our lads have landed in the States over the last year or two.

Good luck to Walsh. It's 99% likely he'll lose, but if Burns' promoters couldn't make the fights they wanted then a bout like this does no harm, it just doesn't prove much.

    Burns by early stoppage.
