Default Why do TUF fights not count towards an official record?

I have never understood why wins and losses on TUF don't count towards an official fight record. Is anyone aware of the reason for this?

Yes I was curious too, Joe Rogan explained it recently I believe, saying that the UFC decided to make then exhibitions so they dont' have to report the results (wins and losses).

That way it isn't public info on who won and who lost before the season starts.

It doesn't ruin the show that way and it doesn't go on the guys record so I'm sure it further encourages prospects to go on the show, tho I doubt they ever needed any extra incentive due to the massive success and exposure of the show.

This ^ so they don't have to tell the NSAC because then the results could slip out to the public. Then no one will watch it.

I still think it is pretty stupid not to include them on their official record.

Just about everything is pretty well controlled by White. I think that is good, it means everyone is playing with the same set of rules in their hands.
Everything White does is pointed towards expanding UFC, stabilizing UFC and insuring that UFC makes money. If White feels that TUF fights shouldn't count, which will ensure TUF's continued growth and prosperity, that's what is going to happen.
