depending on how badly you've been knocked out, rolling out the ring could be an option

Everyone always told me the fight was over when you were KO'ed. It's too late to do anything after the KO.
My advice is to get to your dressing room ASAP, make up some good excuses and take a nice long shower.

An example from an old pal elsewhere went by the handle Baseball Choke:

Michael Bisping in his fight against Dan Henderson showed great recovery after taking this huge shot from Hendo:

Sadly Bisping realized Henderson would go for a body shot while he was on the ground and lowered his hands to protect himself, but Dangerous Dan saw this and went for the head instead:

    thus receiving the knockout blow:

here's it in gif form if you need any clearer explanation:

Henderson takes alot of heat for that, but he just didn't like Bisping.
When he knocked out Gracie, he stoppet punching immediately when he saw him go out.

Also, if Bisping would not have circled to Henderson right in that fight would have been his best bet.

Go all Manny and pretend your being attacked by a Bear. Play dead and don't move.

Do whatever you can to survive! If the referee lets the fight continue, grab and hold, let your mouth piece fall out, fall through the ropes-partially-hit low, do what you can to stop the punches for a few seconds.
You are in that bad place where fighters don't want to be, SURVIVAL MODE.

If you aren't hurt that badly then continue to fight, if he or she thinks you're hurt they could rush into a nice counter.
Personally I think what you do will be instinctive, especially if you haven't been down before. You can be told what to do, but when you brain suffers that momentary disconnect, you might come up swinging, running, grabbing, or calm as a Sunday morning willing to do what ever it takes to get the prick or bitch that just knocked you down.

Best thing to do after being knocked down or hurt in a fight is to move around if you have the co-ordination in your legs as sometimes they may go wobbly. The other option is to hold and hug your opponent for dear life. Final option is to stand and fight as the best defence is your offence if you are a banger yourself.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
