    Default Formula 1

I normally find F1 very boring but last week was entertaining. Vettel was told by his team Red Bull to not overtake his team mate Webber and just stay behind. Instead he overtakes him with a dangerous move which could have caused an accident and both cars to lose the race. Vettel said he did not hear the instruction not to over take but Webber is pissed off. It did make it an exciting race.

Conversely Hamilton thanked his team mate Rosenberg for following team instructions and not over taking him when he could have. This made the race boring if they are to obey team orders.

I don't mind a bit of F1, my dad watches it all the time and we always used to watch it on Sundays. Definitely not the most exciting sport, due to the long races and high tech cars it's more of a tactical/who has the best engineers type of sport. It can be interesting but not enough racing for my liking, still usually end up checking out the highlights.

What is it with the teams ordering a driver not to over take their team mate? Is it because the guy in front has the better chance of winning the title or is it a matter of minimising risk to driver and car?

I haven't watched for a bit but if I am going to watch racing I prefer superbikes or the MotoGP. More overtaking, rider skill etc. That said the skill level of formula 1 racers compared to the monotonous snooze fest that is NASCAR is like night and day.

It is a crap sport. I watched when Schumacher was in, but now it is devoid of anyone I can support I won't watch. It's boring, it is an elitist sport for square jaws and the best car wins. They make up the rules as they go along too, which isn't cool. 'Actually chaps, safety car time and only best of 95 laps'. It's a nonsense sport.

I agree the sport is boring but it is especially more boring when they deliberately tell their drivers not to over take. Where is the entertainment in that?

    Just seen this thread!

I was actually at this GP!! Me, my Dad and a friend all travelled to Kuala Lumpur for the GP and had an AMAZING time. I can understand the casual fan looking in might dismiss F1 as boring but if you're into the sport then it's anything but.

We had fantastic seats right on the home straight directly opposite the pits and the sound was astonishing. I still haven't got round to posting my pics up on Facebook but when I do I'll post up a few pics from the weekend in here, got one of me with some pit girls too!
