    Default Engels Pedroza

This is a guy that could have had it all, tons of ability. Ended up having a solid career, but not what it could have been.

In the first 30-40 seconds of the video they show a few clips from his fight with Othal "Choo Choo" Dixon; that is the guy in blue trunks getting knocked out of the ring, and then getting stopped all in 90 seconds of the first round. What they don't show, but should have was one of the craziest things I have ever seen in boxing.
They came out punching as hard and as fast as they could. Dixon nailed Pedroza and he went down to one knee, but the ref was behind Dixon and didn't notice Pedroza go down. He didn't notice because Engels never stopped punching, not on the way down, not on the way back up, and not until he stopped Dixon a minute later.

I remember him well he had a head dress with the head of a rattlesnake on it.
he went on a 19 fight KO rampage , until he ran into Mike Johnson who boxed smart and stopped him in 9 , I think Johnson was a Kronk fighter at the time.
Engles was MR excitement and I agree with a better trainer he could have gone a bit further.

Still finished 42 wins 9 losses but 40 ko wins top banger !!!

Engels found out that chasing girls and drinking was more fun than boxing. Apparently the girls he was chasing weren't giving him enough of a chase and thus he wasn't getting his roadwork done. Except on his way into the ring.

He looks like Jorge Fernando Castro. Says this Pedroza was a Junior Middle or least finished his career there cus I also saw 140 in the videos.

    He ever fight Castro?

Man Castro is one of the toughest SOB's to ever box, I'd imagine if they did fight this Pedroza did not stop him (nevermind Castro is probably a lot bigger and I'm way off base )
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

No, he never fought Castro. I might be wrong, but I think that only his last couple fights were at 154.

Pedroza was pure fun tv. Live by the sword or die by the sword type. I caught a few of his when he was at the Forum and his wars with Howard. He def had a little hybrid Daniel ponce Deleon / Yori boy Campas thing going on. He did well to reunite with Montoya after split and I had him up over Kiggunda in forum tourney, think he got the short end. 154 was never for him and he was a used up force with McKart.

He got robbed against Kiggundu, that's for sure. But if it had to happen, I guess it's ok that Kiggundu got the break. I saw him get royally screwed at the Forum as well, though I can't remember who it was against.

Good call man. Had to dig some tapes up when home and his next out was "tko" to Stephan Johnson RIP. Decent scrap early then headbutt as Stephens even pulled him in..clear to everyone BUT Lou Filipo..Kiggunda given no time to have it worked, Docter didn't even wipe it, and was ruled a tko for Johnson. Loses tourney and State title etc. Dont know if thats it but little iffy

I just looked at his record and I guess I'm confusing him with somebody else. But Kiggundu did fight Jorge Castro- somebody mentioned him above- and was stopped. In fact, he lost 11 out of 12 after Pedroza.
