Hasn’t it been proven that a quick rematch is a bad idea?
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.

Good cause I think Mares took him lightly and was falling a little to much in love with his success. He got a wake up call. This is what champions do.

dangerous decision. May be bad news for Mares. Ironic since many like me gave Gonzalez almost no chance, and now this may be a 50/50 fight.

I agree. It's what champions do! Hey, every time a fighter gets in the ring he's taking a chance.

good to hear, sounds like something Mares would do. That's why I like him.

I think we will see a similar result, it might go a few more rounds, but sometimes fighters just meet their match. I would be very surprised if Mares can turn this around so quickly.

Most figheters have their kryptonite and jhonny just might have his number. A rangey fighter with boxing skills and lethal punching power could be all wrong for mares.

I agree, he is all wrong for Mares. I give him a ton of credit for going right back after it though, that doesn't happen very much anymore. Either way, I think it works in Abner's favor. Even if he loses again, unless it's another first round beating, which I seriously doubt would happen.

I think we will see a much better prepared Mares who wont be standing still or moving to his right. I also think its a massive leap to suggest that after 3 minutes and that punch that Gonzalez has his number.
