Ward would be fortunate to win a round. He does not have the speed, power or talent Roy had.

I think Ward vs. Calzaghe would have been a more even match up.

To me its kinda of like Naz vs Barrera except this Naz has a far better resume and is more dedicated...its actually quite hard for me because i think ward would crowd jones against the ropes as that was really RJJ's main weakness, being against the ropes, and try to punish him there. The question would be: Could he do it for 12 rounds against a guy who's superbly fast and hard hitting?

I think that Ward would be under the impression that he was fighting a crowd. Even though he didn't stay long, I dont see anyone since the divisions creation that could beat Roy. I've always thought that a prime Eubank would have given Roy the most problems. I think Roy beats Ward as handily as he did McCallum at 160.

i think that its definitely the toughest fight of jones' prime. the main problem with ward is that he wont have the power to really deter jones from his gameplan. ward is very quick and smart in the ring. technically, ward is the better fighter, but jones is the superior athlete. i think that ward has some good rounds while landing some good shots. i would assume that ward would fight in the pocket to take away jones outside fighting ability and his power. i see it being a too close to call fight. one of those fights where the decision is disputed either way.

Jones got away with so much through speed and reflexes.

Pure offense and boxing to a level of precise power.

Never seen ward beaten but its on the cards that a prime rj has his number.

I can't see what Ward could do with Jones that Hopkins and Toney hadn't already tried

One way or another, it's a UD win for Jones Jnr.

Exactly. The rules did not apply to Jones in his prime.

    NOTHING worked against him.
