Thompson is doing his best to keep the money rolling in and to be fair there arent many big name options for afury at the moment. He needs a fight very soon because of Haye pissing him around.

Wilder, Arreola and Stiverne are not real options. Wilders team wont risk him. Arreola and Stiveren are foghting each other. Pulev has a fight coming up.

Some on here dont like to admit it but Fury is somewhat avoided. He is so big and can fight that he is not someone that any fighter anywhere near a title shot will want to face.

Peter Fury has said he wants Tyson to have between 4 and 6 fights this year so that says that they realise if they wait to get a decent name it could be anther year of sitting round so anyone with a recognisable name that wants a fight will get one. They were looking at Fres Oquendo early last year and he has piped up so that is the kind of opponent im thinking they will have no choice but to go with. It would be unfair for a fighter who is still progressing like Tyson to not now be gifted some kind of warm up.

Thompson is a hard ask for Fury. Tyson is younger and bigger but Tony is more skilled and has better defense. If this fight is made it will boil down to can Fury fight smart and is Thompson too old...if the answer to either of those questions is no then Fury will lose.

I think Thompson wins a decision

    You have to be joking!

Did you not see him against Pulev?

He did nothing but then in Pulevs latest fight he loses rounds and gets dropped by a journeyman who was wiped out inside a round by Arreola and takes 5 rounds to win

Thompson wants a pay day and will offer a workout but his fights with Price proved just how shit Price is not how good Thompson is.

As soon as fury goes in with a decent genuine Heavy who can punch he's fucked.

Take your tounge out of his asshole for once and you might see what everyone else does.

I think Furys brilliant for boxing but its all over soon as he's banged by a puncher

Everyone understands he's not as good as he will be, but he talks so much trash, all the time, that some of the--US fans--just want someone to shut his mouth.
I know the Haye episode has him frustrated, but he should let his team make some sure fire fights for him.
Truthfully I think Haye or Thompson are not his best choices now.

How is he avoided? What fighters has he made genuine offers to fight that have been turned down? You are talking shite and have no idea what you are talking about.

Wilder is in the exact same boat as Fury as regards Wilders team wont risk him! Do you think Furys team would risk a fight with Wilder for shitty money?

If you watch the press conference to announce the Fury v Cunningham fight both Fury and Cunningham mention that a few other American heavies were offered the fight, including Arreola and Stiverne and they all turned it down. There is also an interview on youtube with Arreolas trainer where he basically says a Fury fight is too much of a risk for Arreola and he even goes as far as to say that as his trainer he would accept the fight but Arreola himself wouldnt.

If it was bullshit those fighters that Fury and Cunningham mentioned would yave called them on it.

Be realistic, Fury is huge, can punch and move, he can be hurt but thats a gamble when if you cant catch him, you know he has good stamina and a fast pace and puts punches together more than any other heavyweight.

Hey, wait a minute. Why not Thompson? I mean, forget Haye. Haye's nothing but a blowhard, asking for title shots he doesn't deserve, and mysteriously dropping out of "Klitschko-less" fights.

But why not Thompson? I like Thompson for both Fury AND Wilder. C'mon! How much longer are we going to wait until we expect both these big bangers to "shit or get off the pot"? I agree that Fury and Wilder shouldn't face each other yet. Assuming they both continue to develop and get a few more W's under their belts, there's a potential big-money fight to be made, with lots of fan interest.

David Price tried Thompson twice, to his credit. Unfortunately, that didn't do much for Price's career. But that just says that Price would've gotten KO'ed down the line..... if not by Thompson then by somebody else.

Thompson wants Fury..... Fury's handlers want to keep him busy..... no one else is available right now.
    So what's the holdup??

    What he said ^

Can the bloody pond get any scummier? Just when you thought "stagnant" had a conclusion in its definition, the heavyweight division shows up.

Please post the interview I can't find it. I saw the press conferences. Without knowing what the offers were u cannot say he is avoided or being ducked. I cannot imagine if Arreola was made a good offer that he would not fight Fury. As far as I recall Arreola fought Stiverne a week after the fight so that fight could already have been made when Fury made them offers? I know fighters like to call out guys who cannot fight them!

Fury has bigger fishes to fry so Joe Blow Thompson aint gonna get the fight. WHat the hell does Fury have to gain by beating up on Thompson.. absolutely nothing.

Fury is looking for Wilder, Chisora, or Lucas Browne next...

Thompson is more credible then Browne for me. Can't see the wilder fight happening. I'd like the Chisora rematch. A fit Chisora will be a real test.

I like Chisora but I think he's had his chance. His development was really badly stunted by getting a title shot so early. In his last few fights he has been hurt a few times and I honestly think Fury would stop him very early. He's still getting hit but he's also now getting hurt regularly.

It would be a shame for British boxing if it did happen as it would almost certainly end Chisoras career. Manuel Charr would be a good option also. Its going to come down to who actually truly wants the fight and probably will end up being Chisora as he has the ranking and should be a straight forward fight to make as Chisora is also a known name.
