Word up. Terry Norris, 154 lbs, faster of foot and hand than Floyd, more guts, terrific power, and not scared to turn a fight rough-and-tough in the trenches style...

Norris, KO inside 3 of Floyd, Floyd would've ducked him just as he has the top guys for 10 years (Hatton exception).

Pacquiao could've hung with those guys in the early 80s and the early 90s though...

I truly believe that Norris would have overwhelmed floyd with his furious combinations. I dont think floyd's bitch style of fighting would work on norris.. uh uh

Fighters always say this.. All that slapping probably beats "all that getting KO'ed and DQed and being shot by 30 years old", although I think he would have been able to beat Floyd at 154 in a hypothetical, thats a really hard fight for Mayweather. Oscar in his day would have KO'ed Norris at 154 imo. Think Manny was probably just to small as well, but Norris was chinny and left himself wide open at times. He'd lunge in a lot, was often way off balance if he didn't land. Also he tended to keep his left pretty low without rolling anything and wasn't hard to nail over the top with rights. Great boxer puncher though.

This could be one of those fights where the cute slick boxer gets beat to the punch and bullied by the super aggressive offensive machine. Norris had blinding hand speed threw some scary ass combinations.

For sure, Norris was a scary offensive fighter. Mind you he had a long frame, began his career at 154 and stayed there as far as I know, he'd make Floyd or Manny look tiny in the ring. If you wanted to take either of those two guys at 130 or 35 they were better than he was imo. I think Mayweather would have a really easy time landing on Norris at any weight but probably just couldn't hurt him.

    NO WAY!

That fight didn't happen because Bob Arum (and everyone else in Boxing) knew the cash-cow would have been demolished by Norris...

I remember Norris demolishing Meldrick Taylor.

After the fight, Norris commenting that he knew Taylor would come with that "pitty-pat" stuff and he'd destroy him...

I don't think so. Norris would have never taken many left hooks from Oscar, but either way the golden boy was just making the move up from lightweight as Norris was pretty much on his way out. Was that fight ever seriously talked about?

There's been some terrific fighters in recent years.
    The top guys hold up.
The problem I see is Floyd ducked most of them when they were at their best, and stacked the cards against them in every conceivable way when he finally did pick the time to box them. It used to be that top fighters wanted to fight a man at his very best because they wanted those bragging rights and didn't want there to be any excuses the man could make for losing. Floyd made it possible that every guy he boxed in the last decade has a few valid excuses why they lost...

Because I disagree with a troll now and then? Settle down. De La hoya had just moved up to welterweight by the time Norris was losing his last couple fights and retired, all that happened in the same year. It was well before I watched boxing though, forgive me for not realizing that was strangely in the works.
