I got his book today and so decided to see what he was saying on You Tube and towards the end of this interview (about 7 minutes in) he mentions not speaking to his parents anymore. I know there was the fight with his Dad before the comeback fight, but why has it become such a hardline thing? So, I'm curious if anybody knows more or has read more articles and can fill in the dots. Generally I don't read sports articles so find it a bit odd. I've a few assumptions, but want to see if others know more about it.
So, why doesn't Hatton speak to his parents and seemingly on a permanent basis?

Hatton was a great fighter no doubt, just never found him to be much of a personality, bit of a bumpkin really. I hate the way it's portrayed that boxing "led him" to drink and drug addiction as well, as if that makes him endearing or something. Anyone whose ever been through anything is welcome to make excuses and start drinking their face off all day, that's the path of least resistance and frankly quite boring.
